Just dropped in for the first time since TOW launched and I think it might be worth having a good look at the various pinned threads in each section. Each forum section seems to have half a dozen pinned threads up the top, making it harder to spot the new active threads. Some of them have been cold 6+ years.
Good suggestion! I can think of a couple of threads that no longer need to be pinned. @Killer Angel @Scalenex
Multiple times, I unpinned some old threads and people complained about it to me until I re-pinned them. Until now, no one has asked me to unpin something. I guess I'll give it a go again. I'll let @Killer Angel prune the painting forums. He spends far more time than I do.
I was going to make a series of suggestions but it looks as though you already got most of the ones I was thinking of. I can only think of one other. What about this one in the Other Armies subforum: I know it is one of yours, but it's been moved to another subforum, yet still remains pinned on in the Other Armies subforum. Plus, I don't think the T9A traffic we have on this site (essentially nothing) really justifies it. Just a suggestion though.
I agree with you, and I tried to unpin it. Long ago, I posted that link in a very unconventional way in order to get it splashed across many threads (I did the same thing with the FAQ which I am not going to unpin though I may revise). I don't remember how I did it, the Red Devil (long may he ribbit) gave me a complex set of steps to do it. I think I need his know-how to undo it, so I flagged him on the Moderator subforum. EDIT: I found how I did it. I move threads all the time but I usually do not leave a redirect or I leave a 2-day redirect. What I did is I made the 9th Age Thread, left a permanent redirect, and moved it to another, left a permanent redirect. Rinse and repeat. And the permanent redirect are actually permanent as far as I know. I found how I did it. I move threads all the time but I usually do not leave a redirect or I leave a 1-day redirect. I even tried deleting it, but the funny thing is, our deleted don't delete, they move to an archived folder so the mahrlect redirect is still there.
