Anyone have any success with these guys? Apart from being cheap unlocks i dont see much of a use for them. They have underperfromed in every game i have used them.

Well, I use them all the time since I didn't like Saurus back in WFB and I decided to make a Ghkkotah themed army in KoW. Problem with them is that they are a bit overpriced, I really think they should have another special rule, probably pathfinder. BUT, if you use them well they can be good, you obviously can't use them as your main battle line but used as chaff or bait for other units they are good. Also if you use them to flack charge deployed at the sides of your main units they can really pack a punch.

That being said, I usually use a Horde in low points games or two regiments and a horde in higher point games, and the horde usually performs decently. I like to throw the horde in front of the hardest hitting unit the enemy has (the highest CS or TC the better), with defence 3 they are overkill for them and thus they are wasting that powerfull unit destroying your cheap unit and with nerve 19/21 they can hold them at least or two turns. Its beautifull to see a Soulreaver cavalry being hold by them and then getting flank charged by my tyrants.

I've not used them yet but I really do like the sound of the units, I'm going to try a horde unit in a battle and see how they fair.

they used to have the nimble which i thought was appropriate. They removed it and gave them more atttacks in the final version of the rules.

I think that giving them more attacks with a +5 to hit and no CS is a bit pointless, what are you going to get... Maybe 1 more wound. I prefer the nimble, and even better pathfinder. But the list is what it is and we have to play with it.

I've mostly been using Hunters so far in my games and they are very flexible to use in games, but if they get hit by anything more than a stiff breeze, they are sure to rout. They do make an effective screen for your regiments and hordes if used correctly and they are excellent at taking out your opponents support units too. I highly recommend sending them after war machines and heroes without the individual rules.

I know they can work, you just have to change the concept of the army, because it plays in a completely different way.
