Blog Wannabe lizard wizard… Toltecatl's lil' lizzards and stuff!

Thanks guys!! I cant wait to have that painted. Right now i'm doing some experiments with green, trying to up my skills with layering and glazes… Hopefully I'll be able to do justice to these guys. And then i just heard about the painting contest so maybe I should try and paint a model for it… Are you guys going to?
Anyway i'll still find a way to put together the rest of my TG's… Gotta work on all that!

nice work dude cant add more than the ethereal pat on the back. also try your hand in the contesto_O (im trying for all three:oops:) push your self its been fun for me :D

Oh good! ok i'll be trying at least the 'open' one, and if i have the time i'll go for a lizardmen entry too :D (it is LO's contest after all…)
 
Thanks so much for the in depth pics of your process in moulding green stuff. Really invaluable and potentially sanity-saving stuff!
 
Hey everyone!!

Back from holiday, so let's get to work for the 2016-2017 season :D Hope i'll get enoug time to really advance my stuff this year cause it looks like there's a sh*tstorm of work approaching… whatever.

So first things first: back with more GS stuff. I'm close to completing the mould line removal and ugly parts concealment for the sternguards, but what i enjoyed doing the most today was adding a detail most shamefully overdue to my little GS toad: it has eyes now. I love the result on his right eye, the left one doesnt seem to have turned out that well but as we frenchers say, "sometimes trying too hard to do better keeps you from doing good". So i thought i'd stop trying to make it perfect as it's the first time i've tried this.

And that's all for the moment… hopefully October will favour my lizards and i can start painting some of them :D

nice toad! What´s its size compared to other models?
 
cheers :) Well i wanted it to look realistic on my bases but still tried not to make it too small so that the sculpting wouldnt be impossible for me… here's the compromise size. lets say it's not huge but not exactly on scale (or it would have to be one very big toad lol):

I really like your toad! It's very well done! You should make another one twice the size and have your own custom GS Slann ;)

oh my. so much work… that would have to be way more than twice the size lol. Maybe ten times the size? o_O
I'll still keep that in mind., thanks for the idea. I don't have a slann yet… maybe if i get a couple days off over the next few months i'll have a go!!! What are you up to atm?
 
It sure would be awesome ;) I'm currently working on a skink priest! I will post pictures of him on my blog when he is done. I'm also trying to start on my very first stegadon but I'm just so scared to paint it - it's such a big model :D Thank you for the interest.
I will be keeping an eye on your blog :)

Just do it! Jump right into that stegadon! I'm futzing up my old metal one as we speak :P
