Creating a thread to post my WiP on a variety of projects, Lizardmen and otherwise. I normally aim for a decent tabletop standard as I don't have the patience for higher quality and most of my miniatures are intended to be played with and not sit on a shelf and look pretty.

To get started, here are some Genestealer Cultists I painted up a few months ago.

Ok, the beginnings of my Basilean army for Kings of War. I bought an eagle at Target for $3.50. It's a bit of a soft plastic and I'm not convinced on the sculpt, but I'm going to paint it up in reds, oranges and yellows and see if I can get it be an acceptable Phoenix. Hopefully, I'll have an update in a couple
days.

Cool array of models you have hear, curious what your other plans are. What armies are you collecting/planning to collect/have collected so far?

The armies I've collected, am planning on collecting, etc.? That's a long list, mostly Warhammer 40k and Fantasy.

I started with Tyranids and have a huge army that still grows occasionally, but has typically sat neglected on the shelf since the 6th ed Nid book came out. I've also had a small Genestealer Cult that I started kit bashing 12 years ago that expanded when the new book came out. A few Orks and Eldar here and there, and a decent size Chaos army I started working on a couple years back.

In terms of Fantasy, I started with Orcs, went on to Empire, Lizardmen, and Skaven.

My current projects are my new Basileans, my Free Peoples list for Age of Sigmar, and a few long term projects like finishing working on my Chaos and Genestealer Cult. Also, at some point I'll go back to my Seraphon and finish painting my Saurus Warriors and Knights.

I'll try to get some more pictures up in the next couple days. I finished the Phoenix and can post pictures of a couple previously finished models. This is a Lizardman site, so I should probably post some shots of my Seraphon/Lizardmen...

That is an impressive list, would love to see more pictures. Especially of your lizards as they continue to be produced!

Also, just for fun, here is an older model (both in terms of when it was produced and how long I've had it finished) that will probably become my Paladin on horseback for the Basilean army. I may re-touch or rework a few things, but I think it's close to what I want in terms of color scheme for the army.

Your sunblood and carno are gorgeous! Brilliant work on all of this. Just looks so damn good.

That's a nice base concept :) if you're doing another one you should try the toothbrush or any brush really technique where you pull back the hairs/strands and then let the paint splatter itself you'll get a more natural array of splatters of stars and that - and if it goes horribly you just paint over it ;)

Thanks for the complement on the Phoenix. I am not sure on that technique. I don't want to get paint on my model. Instead, I'm probably going to try a couple different brushes to stipple the stars on the base. We'll see. I may try your method if I ever do more rebasing or add more new models to the army.
