He looks great, you might want to paint the inlay of the weapon to break up the silver, any ideas on basing yet?

Ahhh maybe add a green wash around the studs and spikes.

Take a look at @Itepixcauh blog he painted a weapon to look like stone and his detailing is superb, looking at your again and increasing the size it looks nothing like silver!

Can you do a close up of the shield?

Your details are pretty sharp. Nicely done.
I think you should shade the weapon a bit more though to make it look more stoney. But pretty good otherwise. :)

I like the purple and green. Highly mysterious, I think jungle bases would look great. You could just do a simple "mud" floor, glue on some sand, paint it brown, maybe give it a wash to look muddy. And add random jungle plants... that is the tutorial I generally use.

Just do some sand/rocks with some flock for quick easy bases. I like having lots of rockwork on my bases since it's so easy to do well and it always looks fantastic. You can always pick up some tufts some other time to spruce them up a bit later but it's totally optional. Another quick method is just using gws texture paints. Bases that are basecoated zandri dust and then slathered with agrellan earth make for a rad dry lakebed effect and will take you literally seconds per base if you spray prime them zandri dust to begin with

    Update time!

My first Bastiladon! So happy how it came out, hope you like it to!

I changed my Seraphon "main colour" to green instead of the purple...liked it better!

Honestly, the new texture basing paints that GW (Citadel) makes are amazingly easy and come out GREAT! In case you didn't know (which you might, but I'll type out anyway) their new range consists of "thin" and "thick" versions of the texture base paints (can be found here). Just slap it on with an old brush (or one of those shovel type brushes), let it dry over night. Do a wash then a light drybrush, add some flock or tufts and there you go! Looks great.

I used the Armageddon Dust for my Blood Angel army. Washed it with Agrax and a drybrush of screaming skull. Some frozen tufts from army painter. Took like.. 10 minutes (not including dry time) to get a whole squad based. Super easy!

The only downside to it is that it can get expensive pretty fast, specially if you´re doing all your army bases simultaneously. Buy they do look really good.
