Why, do you believe there is a correlation (or heaven forbid... causality) between posting and not painting? (says the guy with more posts than anyone... but no paint blog) ;)

Quick update time- I'm still painting the last of my current start collecting box, on top of finishing off some extra temple guard to add to my older metal versions. I'm also painting some of the 5th edition saurus warriors that I have, before I need to crack on and repair the rest of them (lesson to be learned here: acetone is BAD when mixed with plastic!) I just need to transfer some pictures over from my camera onto my laptop...

Also, this is what the 5th edition models looked like when I first got them! :S (I believe these are the same photos from my old deviantart account, dating back to 2010/2011ish ) Luckily I've been able to give them a repaint since then... 2011_0830AU.JPG 2011_0830AN.JPG 2011_0830AP.JPG 2011_0830AQ.JPG

Photo time! This might take a few posts to achieve (and quite a wait considering the upload time on my laptop) up first, the Kroxigor (the 6th edition krox were originally broken as seen in one of the photos, but now they are glued down to their bases as seen in the other photos. Have put in the repaints too- I think I prefer my paint scheme over the previous owners! ;) ) Kroxigor unit front.JPG Kroxigor 5th edition 1.JPG Kroxigor 5th edition 2.JPG Kroxigor 5th edition 3.JPG Kroxigor 6th edition broken.JPG Kroxigor 7th edition unfinished.JPG

Next up, my 5th edition saurus warriors- a mix of being both finished minis, and ones in need of serious repair as you'll see in the photos:

Just as I was uploading the previous photos, my old charger for my laptop suddenly started sparking, meaning that I had to try and hunt down my new spare charger, that someone had decided to hide away in the house without telling me :l -cue ensuing panic of trying to find said charger before laptop dies whilst uploading photos- *crisis now averted* I can now resume uploading photos- next up some salamanders: (bases need touch ups...)

More photos: Gor-Rok/Sunblood (I hope the colouration between the scars shows up, as I used a (very) watered down carroburg crimson wash to show the redness of his scars healing over, compared to the orangey-yellow shading between his scales, after being inspired by some of the images online of albino reptiles) Gor-Rok Saurus Sunblood 1.JPG Gor-Rok Saurus Sunblood 2.JPG Gor-Rok Saurus Sunblood 3.JPG Gor-Rok Saurus Sunblood 4.JPG

Thanks guys :) It took a while to do Gor-Rok but after the drybrushing up to white (and a little bit of thinned down layers/glazes of white) I think he came out pretty good (that and you might not be able to see it much in the top picture, but he has a red eye with a black pupil and white dot for reflective light - although I think the finecast was a bit dodgy round his face so it might be a bit weird) Not to mention the time it took to clean up/assemble/greenstuff/paint the Kroxigor (I don't think the previous owner had heard of Duncan's phrase of '2 thin layers') Saurus Temple Guard plastic 1.JPG Saurus Temple Guard plastic 2.JPG Saurus Temple Guard plastic 3.JPG Saurus Temple Guard filler 1.JPG Chakax Eternity Warden unfinished 1.JPG Chakax Eternity Warden unfinished 2.JPG Chakax Eternity Warden unfinished 3.JPG Anyways, more pictures! Fresh off the painting desk there is Plastic Temple Guard, 3 filler models for my metal Temple Guard and unfinished Chakax/Eternity Warden. There are some details that need doing on the main unit (shrunken heads, eye pupils) but aside from that, they are pretty much done. With Chakax I've misplaced one of his arms, so I'm 'borrowing' an ork arm from my brother to fix and replace it with on his main weapon arm. That and after I plan on greenstuffing it together, I'll have to repaint the connection to the body. Oh the joys of painting in sub-assemblies! :p

I think the 6th edition and 7th edition will have the same blue scheme akin to the 'eavy metal style. The 5th edition models (including the skinks and saurus) are based loosely on an old scheme from possibly the 5th edition army book or the lizardmen collectors range book GW released many years back (can't remember that well to be honest). I think the recipe for the green ones was black primer, caliban green base, loren green, then possibly mechanicus grey (or was it administratum? Hmm) for the ribbed chest area, a wash of biel-tan green all over for that rich shading then a layer of loren green/mechanius grey on their respective areas. Then caliban green for the back scales, bugmans glow for the mouth (afterwards a wash of carroburg crimson) then ushabti bone for the teeth/claws. Can't remember what I did for the eyes - that and instead of loren green for some of the kroxigor, I think I may have substituted it for Sybarite green and possibly Warboss green for a bit of differentiation.

I'm intending on getting at least one model per generation of lizardmen so that I have a good mix in my collection! I have all the terradons except for the current plastic versions- just need to clean them up, green stuff and then paint them :) (and sort out the flying bases, as they've been sheared off into the holes of their bodies, as is typical of metal flying models :/ )

Currently, I haven't done much in terms of painting - mainly because of lack of time (work, life etc). I did get some Tau models primed from the 40k kill team box I got a while ago, especially as 1) the weather was finally good for priming and 2) 8th edition is coming for 40k so it's sci-fi time! (looks at the burning of prospero box that still needs assembling -sobs-)

Update time yet again! Strange to think it's been a month since my last post here :S in that time I've been mainly working on my 40k stuff that's been lurking in various boxes waiting to be finished, and with 8th edition around the corner, it seemed appropriate to get them sorted out! I've tried to get the bases out of the way on the majority of the models first (forgot to do so with the ultramarines), and make a start with the models from the Burning of Prospero boxset along with some plastic scouts. Also, I did give in and purchase the Classic Blood Bowl Lizardmen Team (making me a tad broke last month, along with a Branchwraith from a separate order) so I haven't gone entirely without lizardmen/fantasy. As they arrived today, I was able to assemble and base them up ready for priming (which, considering the weather currently in the UK, might take a few days! Have to say it looks particularly stormy looking outside my window D: )
