Hey everyone! Who here has managed to play a lizardman/saurian/general scaly person in a role playing game?

One of the best characters I ever played was in Exalted where I got to play a Dragonking in a mixed game of Solars and Abyssals. I made a Dragon King Ankyled who was an engineer that was woken up centuries after his civilization had fallen and whose driving goal was to find hidden caches of his people. I wasn't that great in combat compared to the Solars, but I had some pretty nifty abilities. I also turned out to be essential when we went through a module and it turns out the ruined Solar city had a Dragon King designed crystal core that I was able to reawaken.

    Anyone else have cool stories?

I've played a few lizardman characters in tabletops before, namely pathfinder and D&D, and I remember one in particular fondly, whom I simply refer to as the lizard wizard, having forgotten his name. The fellow made it all the way to level 20 before finally dying a heroic death alongside his companions against an army of dragons, if memory serves.

I've made several of templates for GURPS, saurus and skinks, however all ends up being slightly high cost characters. The saurus were 200, could probably be made less, but it's a matter of perspective of the level of power ;)

Exalted is in general a good game for high powered characters, perhaps Fate Core would be a fun campaign for lizardmen action :)

There was Phoebus the Lizardman. AD&D. He was (I believe) based on a pregenerated character from an official TSR module. A friend of mine played him as his default character for years.

Lizardmen were an original Monster Manual creature long before they were a Warhammer Army.

I had a friend who played a Lizardman with a minigun in a TORG game I ran a few years back.

Ahh yes the advanced monster manual. I had gotten so used to the newer edition, had almost forgotten that art work. :)

Actually we had a game where we had a minor horde of saurus warriors clad in the heaviest armour that could be found. It was a warlord style game, where the players were to conquer and recruit better units in game. Once they found an ancient spawning pit, they reconstructed it and claimed the warriors of the spawning ;)

They changed the name because "Female Lizard Man" was awkward to say when GMing.

I reckon it's time to revive the Lizardwomen, perhaps that should be the theme of my next campaign :p

Closest i've played was a former birdman pirate who had become a priest and healer.

However, one of the main antagonists (although it's more a friendly than outright antagonistic relationship) was a large lizardman covered in electrified power armour. None of our attacks did anything to him until my character rammed a syringe of laudanum in his face (I swear I didn't aim for the face) and the other birdman whose an engineer managed to snipe a power cable causing his armour to horrifically electrocute him and part melt onto his scales...he for some reason didn't hold it against us and is a kinda frenemy now...

Oh and then there was the time with the Tea Raptor...

I am playing a reptilian in an online space-opera RPG. Not quite lizardman (more serpentfolk) but still scaly... and utterly lethal on a sneak attack.
Anyone want to do that? Fate Core is free to download, we might be able to get the RPG section unarchived if there's a use for it, and I'm sure someone could run the game.

That could actually be fun! I've got the core book, so already read through the rules a fair bit. Got it like a month or two, so I haven't played it yet, unfortunately. :)

The manner fate is played would actually be very well suited for a forum thread rpg ;)

one of my favored races to play in DND/pathfinder is lizard folk or really any lizard type race like the kobolds or dragon born. I had a character lizard monk in 3.0 that took down a adult red with one hit. I got a triple crit (we house ruled if you get 20x3 in a row its instant kill for anything) the dragon appeared I was the only one to pass his will save so I just charged and jumped smashing the dragon skull in and it drops ontop of its hoard. Win for my character the res of the game I was walking around in new red dragon skin robes ^_^

Played a lizardman warmage with a war mattock in rolemaster.
My favourite memory was having a onesie made for me then I cast the 24hr warm cantrip on it so I could take my cold-blooded ass into the frozen mountains.
