The looming excitement that might be TW warhammer II

.... You Must be buying some Very high end RAM...$80 is the highest I'm seeing.
A new fan should only cost a couple of bucks, and ram is by far the easiest thing to install on a PC.

I'll post up a thread later for recommendations.

Decided to sit and install the discs, went with buying a physical copy because download speeds where I am are terrible.
Installs all 4 discs, says it has been installed. Has another 12.5 GB to download off the steam store.... I'm confused. Now have to wait 19 hours to get the rest of the data.
Was hoping to play a bit of the game tonight, with hopes that it would run smoothly. I was able to squeeze medium quality with the first Warhammer.

Yeah, CA's games have terrible download times. The thing steam is downloading is an anti-crash module and remaining gameplay assets. Knowing the total war series, it's probaly the most important module the game has. The game's download is centered around the pre-load, the pre-load ads all the important technical assets, and the release update makes the game playable.

You are probably in the same boat as me then, needing to upgrade

Well, better 12 than 60GB download I guess.

I have to say, I really enjoy the vortex mechanic, at least so far. The way it changes the generic dynamic of the campaigns is quite refreshing. No more all that wondering of what to do next, there is now this big main objective; since the rituals and the race if them demands a unique approach, you end up playing a little differently than usual.

Overall 130+ play and the game seems solid; heaps of fun! :D

So I've played played well over 100 turns as Kroq Gar and I have to say I love it. The Lizardmen look and feel great and the other changes to the campaign really help it. I am disappointed in the Slann as the only thing that makes them better visa-vi the Skink Priest is that the Slann start out being able to use their first four spells which allows you to invest in the red and blue skill trees. I am also annoyed that the Temple guard move around so much when standing still they should be like statues (this is just nitpicking though).

So the Slann aren't uber powerful?

Not really, they start with 4 spells without having to use skill points also their spells is a random mix from lore of light, heavens and high magic. The slaan are kinda easy to kill if you focus them down, but you can upgrade them to having a enormous amount of winds of magic so they can spam spells like no other.

They also have some pretty hefty telekinesis ability's. go too 3,08

Wow those animations are much more detailed than I would have thought for a game of this type. Very nice.

Also couldn't help but notice just how large the Slann is. They really scaled him up.

I am sad that Kroq Gar has such cool animations on foot when I can't part him from Grymloq. But on the plus side I really want Mazdamundi now.

@NIGHTBRINGER
The worst thing is that the Slann don't even have a great spell selection and their attribute is from the Lore of Heavens which is trash. Their bound spell is Banishment which is good. Additionally Skink Priests can take Stegs so they are also CQC monsters (literally) and the Sacred spawnings available to the Oldblood are amazing.

That is so disappointing. I love the Slann, so I was really hoping that they would do them justice. It kind of puts a damper on the game for me.

Oh well... let's see what they can do with the Tomb Kings!

What do mean exactly? Because Grymloq is way too good to leave him on foot?
Because you can always select not to have Grymloq in battle, even after having him unlocked :p

Wut? Lore of heavens ain't that bad.

Harmonic convergence: pretty good.

Wind blast: vey good if used right.

Curse of the midnight wind: pretty good.

Urannons thunderbolt: kinda bad.

Comet of casandora: Very good if used correctly.

Chain lightning: Mehh, deals quite a lot of damage but very unpredictable.

In game 2 they have buffed some of the less attractive lores of magic.

I tried TW1 again last night and I only get 10 FPS

I can't find the problem, i5 quad 3.33ghz, 16mb ram, Geforce 610 2mb card game is set to low preset, in theory I should be able to get 25-30FPS and I should be able to run TW2 but can I?
