Extremely good games, if a tad repetitive in side quests towards the end. You will dedicate some time getting the armor of Brutus in brotherhood though.

Has anyone found a mod that makes fighting in the jungles of lustria not horrific? The battlemaps are nice and all, but in the jungle area's I can't see anything. Don't think I've ever seen foliage quite as ridiculous in a TW game. And although it's nice and immersive it's just too much when you can't even properly make out your own units....

Is it bad that I am hearing everything in a Skaven voice now that I started a new campaign as Queek? Yes, yes! We need to eat-devour our enemies! Yes-yes!!!

Does your foliage not just automatically disappear when you zoom in? If not that is a setting, its not perfect but it works for me.

yea, but on certain maps this means i can choose between zooming in so far that I can only fit a unit or 2 in my screen, losing sense of the battle as a whole, or zooming out far enough to actually see more than that but have it all be covered by trees.

So I beat the Campaign as Kroq Gar and I have to say it was a lot of fun. The final battle was interesting if a little to easy. The reward for taking control was a little underwhelming, the minus 100 reputation with all factions is incredibly annoying as it makes no sense. Why would all my long term allies suddenly be like, "Hmmm I don't trust you cause your even more powerful than you were when you just ruled half the planet." Aside from that though I really did enjoy it I'd give it a 9/10. I've started a Tyrion campaign though I look forward to the release of Alith Anar as he is badass and not a giant dick like Tyrion.

Even with a pause button some of the maps are just too much.. Might have just been unlucky with the maps i suppose. Its only been one or two were i genuinly lost track cuz literally evrything was jungle.

I watched one and a half hours of let's play videos of the Kroq-gar campaign and I have to say it does look interesting.
I don't get half of the numbers though, the youtuber talks about principles that aren't explained half of the time.

Is there some tutorial that tells a Total War beginner about what you find where and what it means? The basics I mean, such as what buildings to build for what?

there will be tutorials on you tube but finding out what you get from each building is half the fun, I'm back on TW1 and just unified all Bretonnia.

Most of it i fairly straightforward, all the buildings say what they do. Especially with the last couple TW games it's become fairly easy cuz stuff is grouped according to it's use (e.g. al basic military buildings are in one category).Figuring out what works best depends on your playstyle anyway (do you prefer infantry, or do you prefer cavalry? All the buildings say what they do and most mechanics are simple enough to understand. Just start playing and you'l get the hang of it quickly :p

There is also a building browser that tells you what each settlement can build, the button is located at the bottom center of the screen between the garrison button and the recruit lord button. The tutorial does a great job at explaining everything and you can always post any questions you have and I or someone else will try to help you.
Also I have found that Kroq Gar's campaign is far easier than Mazdamundi's. His faction and army bonuses make it easier on your economy, he doesn't start with any silly diplomatic penalties (so the Saurus warlord is a better diplomat and economist?), and his starting provinces are walled off by mountains with the only passes being guarded by an (soon to be) ally or directly in the path of Kroq Gar's rampaging army.

Agree with above! KROQ-GAR isn't super tricky to get running, though I have to say that the bonus for temple guards is a pretty neat feature for Mazdamundi. Also he does have an easy start simply wipe out the Skeggi and you can turn attention to the skavens looming about. Just don't bother about the unrest to begin with and that an be done in three four turns :p

Do I understand correctly that if you own both games you can then play all factions on one map, effectively merge both games together?
