So I found this video that shows a string of the in-campaign short videos within the Lizardmen campaign. Cool artwork, though I wish it wasn't just artwork and more showing off the fantastic lizardmen animations they made for the game, like Kroq Gar and his carnosaur killing and Mazdamundi calling down comets.

SPOILERS to the Lizardmen campaign so don't watch if you want to play TWW2 first:

Edit: I posted some of the pictures from this video in the fluff forum, in case anyone needs them for reference material

Yeah I kind of like the revealed at the end, it's not like it changes the gameplay massively, but it sakes up the pace for the last turns ;)

Hopefully this was spoiler free enough for you guys who hasn't played through the campaign yet :)

FYI, the stegadon, Bastiladon, war hydra, Stormvermin, Hellpit abomination, Phoenix guard and Executioners have been sold out ever since the game released.

So sales are going up also for GW, well that's pretty neat. :)

I'm just surprised there hasn't been any tie-in on the GW site. The total war fb page and such occasional post basicly adds for the tabletop but it doesn't seem to happen the other way around, or some sort of promotional thing.

I would love if they added more cinematic moments to the game the way they had in previous games (Shogun and empire), but you're forgetting that CA works for SEGA. All those cool animations that are in both game 1 and 2 weren't in the budget, the developers had to make those in their spare time for FREE. I mean all the animations, the monster were only meant to have a single attack animation and nothing else.

It would be, except they are going to count this as "AoS sales".

Well I reckon you might be suprised there, in a good sort of way ;)
They have been advertising quite heavily the models, on the total war Web site. Even when you start the game, there is a GW add for the various of models in the new game.

So hopefully they are aware of the lost fantasy worlds staying power with new and old fans of the franchise :D

That would be nice, but I have little faith in GW. Every fantasy model they sell, still helps bolster the AoS statistics in their end of year reports. If I go out and buy a bunch of models for my 8th Edition armies/games, they count it as AoS sales. This is one of the primary reasons why I've heavily curbed my direct spending and turned towards the secondary market (although a portion of that money still gets funneled back into AoS sales).

At least the Old World had one last real hurrah in TW: Warhammer! A much more fitting way to go out than what we got in the End Times.

Also the game has been quite well received, so I could imagine that Warhammer fantasy isn't going away just yet :D Again I get your point, I also feel like it's expensive enough as is; Don't really want to order square bases from some third party and shipping just to get them to fit with the rest of my army -.-

There is a similiar discussion about this over on the Round Table:

That was an interesting read. Definitely well thought out.

I think much to many people's surprise, I don't want WFB to return . To clarify, if a 9th edition was released in the same spirit of its 8th edition predecessor without the influence of AoS (including ALL of the game mechanics, lore AND models) then I would be happy as a clam and I'd be the first one on board. I just have no faith at all the it would turn out that way.

For instance, I do not like this thought at all...
    upload_2017-10-15_15-4-51.png

What is most likely to happen is that 9th edition would be a bastardized version of WFB that would not fulfill my personal tastes/wants. The game would simply have to make too many concessions. Then it would obliterate any and all remaining interest in 8th edition (because anything that GW pushes is the current flavor of the month).

This is not to say that 9th edition wouldn't be successful or that GW shouldn't produce it. But I personally cringe at the thought.

P.S. Oh... and just in case there is any doubt, I still want AoS to burn! And I would very happily sit by the fire of its destruction and roast marshmallows :p

If as that article points out they have the briljant idea to include trays for round/oval bases so that you can use the models for both game that'd be quite interesting. To be honest, the old world did have a much nicer setting. And ranked troops look far more interesting than a blob of 40 models.

Though apart from the setting and the proper ranks I don't think having both games is of any advantage.. they compete too much with eacother.

I think an old world revival would be basically a slightly altered AoS rule system and some old models. Using and expanding the "old lore" but not returning to old filth. So proobably not what @NIGHTBRINGER and others want.
...I think I'd like it though...
Perhaps they do it like Horus Heresy or something? Wasn't that `basically something like that?
