Due to their fanatical devotion the Slann and the Old ones, I would this it quite unlikely,
I see Lizardmen either fleeing to fight another day or fighting to the last one.

    Agree as well.
If AoS rules are any indication: there are very few armies with such a high bravery value. Even Stormcast flee before Seraphon do.

Regarding death, my recent post on Lizardmen religious practiced, I detailed the Rite of the Last Journey where an infirm Lizardman can choose suicide honorably under specific circumstances.

Also, welcome to the forums @MrPampers

I liked you vission of the background, it made me remember that ancient peruvians used to sacrifice humans making them to walk to the top of the mountains alone, until the cold winter or lack of food had killed them. I understand that the last journey is not an religious sacrifice, but keeps some common points.
    Best wishes.

The whole business of walk off into the jungle seems unlikely.

As long as a Skink or other lizard can perform a useful task, they carry on.

Where does it say they (LM) age? Do Elfs age?

If a very aged Skink has not managed to die in battle, or at its post, or while doing its task...why wouldn't a Skink priest just use a Lore of Life spell on it? (...if it was ailing.)

GW states multiple times in explicit language that Slann and Sauri do not age. I assumed by the omission that Skinks are not immortal. Tetto'ekko is described as being wrinkly and old. This extrapolated, not cannon, but my fluff stories assume Skinks have a life expectancy similar to modern humans, not medieval humans. Skink Chiefs live longer. Skink priests live longer but Tetto'ekko is beating everyone.

GW states that elves age but the writers seem to have vastly different interpretations about on how fast.

Does that necessarily imply that they do die of old age?

No, but it is likely. If they get wrinkles it means they really age. It would be strange if their skin ages but not their internal organs.

Given the interest in it, I am working on a detailed discussion thread to discuss lifespans of fantasy creatures, everyone, Lizardmen and warmblood alike. I'll get into the gory details But in the meantime. Here is a quote from the High Elf army book, page 26.

“When Bal-Hathor died peacefully of old age, Finubar was his chosen successor."

That means GW canon states that elves can die peacefully of old age. Not many do, but that's neither here nor there.

    As far as I know,
No Slann or Saurus has ever died of old age.
Despite some being thousands of years old.

Skinks on the other hand have a life span similar to humans...
Not sure about kroxigor... I think they are fairly long lived though.
