Hi everyone! Super new to the AoS and Seraphon armies gameplay...but am SUPER familiar to the painting and converting stuff. Just going to dump a bunch of images here from some models I did for someone else before I get into my new stuff!

Thanks! Whenever I do gold, I do an undercoat of an ochre first. Depending on the level of brightness I want...sometimes I use a darker base color first. I then do a couple coats of the gold. As I didnt use Citadel paints for these, I dont know which ones work best in order to recommend specifics. I then add a super watered down version of the base color over the top to shade it. The another layer of gold. Then another layer of gold mixed with some silver to brighten it...The some silver mixed with a hint of gold for final highlights.

Ive never used the newer citadel paints. Back when I used them they were still the black topped ones that dried out so fast...so I stopped using them. I am planning on trying the new ones on my new army though. Theyve got some nice colors and I look forward to trying out the shades and glazes too!

HAHA! Be warned...I dont knock out very easily over the internet. It only happened like twice before...so good luck!

Im an open book...Anyone is free to ask away!! I will do my best to help!

And thanks! I appreciate it! And if Im anything...Im more of a Gray Jedi...to hell with rules for both light and dark!

This sort of thing is what I do for a living (Im a 3D artist for games)...And I used to do traditional sculpting and painting...so this is basically the perfect hobby for me!

A fellow games person! Awesome :D

I'd love to know how you got that effect on the underside of the wings...I can't for the life of me work out if those are physical bumps or just very good highlighting! Is it some kind of extra thick paint?

That is awesome... thank you. :)

Just curious, what brand of paint do you use for your golds?

Thanks! And no problem...happy to help. SO...98% of the paints I had were Jo Sonja matte finish paints. http://josonja.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=31&Itemid=28 The 2% extra were a handful of different metallic ones (in the silver range)...I dont remember what they were nor do I have them anymore

These were the ones I stuck with because they had a great amount of pigment in them (except some of the reds, orange, and yellows...those needed more layers than Id have preferred.) Additionally they were fairly cheap to buy and last a LONG time. The biggest concern I have with them is the durability. They pretty easily scratch unfortunately. Im going to actually try using Citadel brand paints this time around. Maybe not for everything...but Im going to give them a go.

So the way I handled those was like this:

Painted a gradient across them...nothing super special.
Once dried, Used the rounded end of a wooden toothpick to put thick dots of paint around the similar colors...waiting for them to dry before I switch to the next color. The more paint added, the more bumpy it turned out in the end. Did this twice per color. So some yellow dots are higher than others because I dotted in the same spots. Same paints as the rest of the model...just applied differently! :D

Thanks! Ask away, Im happy to help!

LOL thanks...hes adorable! I love that the made these little frogs!

I did. I rolled the green stuff out in a sheet as thin as I could manage and have them not flop down. Layed it out to harden. Then I cut leaves out of it. And the leftover shapes I used to make some of the grass...as well as some smaller leaves I have saved in my box o' bits.
