Did the Spider Riders from that Old boxed set wind up in this Spider-Fang Grot Army? (...faction?)
Personally I like the Beastclaw Raiders. I like the idea of warriors riding mammoths into battle in the snow for some reason. Their Frost Sabres are cool too.
I too have the goal of having 1 army of each of the Grand alliances. For Destruction, I was in the same struggle as you, as I liked some models of each factions but nothing made me want to get the whole faction. In the end, I went with the models I really liked fluff/look/mechanic wise and formed a mixed destruction army! It is made of Beastclaw Raiders, Gutbusters, Aleguzzler Gargants, Spiderfang Grots and some Bonesplitterz! Really gives me the opportinity to create a narrative as to why all of those different tribes rallied under Rulek and Mother Zasz, my Grot Shaman on Arachnarok Spider and general of my army!
I have an army for each Grand Alliance apart from Destruction and I'm looking into buying something to keep me going.
Which army would you collect and why?
I would go Ironjawz any day of the week as they're not only one of the few Destruction 'quality' armies but they also have the most support and they're not in danger of being overwhelmed by huge horde armies like Beastclaws are. They are also well armoured, which Beastclaws seem to fail in.
Just had a look at stuff that's available and I have a hit list.
Weirdnob warband x2 £61.98
SC Ironjawz £38
Megaboss £18.50
So for £118.48 I would have the following
2 Weirdnobs
20 Ardboys
10 Brutes
3 Gore Gruntas
1 Megaboss
Later purchase another SC box and a Cabbage
