Starting to work through my start collecting seraphon box. I had to start off with the carnosaur, because dinosaurs are the coolest. I think this is the largest model that I've painted and that was a bit intimidating, but I think Its looking good so far. WIP of skink priest. Decided I wanted him to look as bright as possible. Maybe hes an eyesore, haha. This little guy is just a test model for a possible colour scheme on the average skinks I'll have. C&C? Currently sitting in a simple green bath I've got an old stegadon, a slann mage priest, a couple pterodactyl riders, and various amounts of skinks and saurus.
I think Im going to add a few small tribal designs and handprints on him, but I like the simple look of the scales and skin at the moment. A little afraid that I'll screw it up if I do too much. Only the priest is going to be orange, the other skinks will be blue. I thought he'd look more magical if he was an odd color.
Slowly making progress... These saurus seem to be covered in mold lines. Slowly but surely getting them all up to par.
In an effort to improve my sculpting skills a bit I did a small conversion to one of my saurus warriors.
I think I'm finally done with the carnosaur itself! I spent way too long working on the claws and i feel like the look on them is still sub par, but ive decided to move on. I was worried about doing the gold work. Metallic paints have seemed to give me trouble in the past, but I'm real happy with the result. The whole saurus unit is primed and ready to go. Hoping to bust these guys out in a lot less time than the carny. Tomorrow a set of army painter paints will be arriving in the mail. Super excited to give them a go, so I won't be using this cheap Walmart paint anymore. Woo!
I think that is the brightest gold I have. Maybe I could mix a little bit with a light yellow to brighten it up, and not lose color?
What brand and what's the color name? What do you have available in your local game shop as far as brands go?
