Hey Aginor! Yeah, the lamp does make it look flatter, I'll try and figure out a better light source. Not all of them, the skink handlers I have are blue skinned with purple and red scales, the saurus warriors are a very dark blue with purple scales, and the scar-veteran on carnosaur I have is the same as the skinks. My plan was to give more special units differing color schemes, astrolith is purple, skink starpriest might be a blue.green, eternity warden might be green. The three main colors I'm using are purple, blue, and green for the army. I was hoping to kind of split them into three major groups based on that color but it's becoming more difficult to organize it that way.
Hey everyone, just an update on what I'm working on. My Balewind Vortex came in and it has been a blast to paint! Not done yet but I'm getting fairly close to it. I know it's not technically a Seraphon model but it's themed after them and will definitely be used by Kroak. I'm still sitting on a Bastiladon but I'm not touching that until I get an airbrush set up. Finally I want to get your opinion on something, I've got $70 in store credit at a hobby shop I got to. I'm debating between getting more Seraphon models, maybe get 2 skink boxes to get that block of 40, or I have been thinking of dipping my toes into 40k and making a Salamanders chapter army, I watch a YouTube series called If The Emperor Had A Text to Speech Device and I absolutely love Primarch Vulkan and his Salamander Chapter. What do you all think? Thanks for reading!
Buy Seraphon! Your BWV looks nice so far. Are you going to paint the stone and metal parts of the base like the ones on the platform?
Hey Aginor and Crowsfoot thanks for the reply! I might try and do something a bit different for the base, I want the places the skulls rest on to remain black and I'm going to paint the metal parts silver again. What I'm running into is should I paint the skulls blue again, or should I paint them as regular skulls? As well as should I paint the stones that are jutting out from the base as purple again or as stone colors so that it would match the ground usually. I'm not too sure on either one yet.
Done! The Balewind Vortex is complete. This is definitely one of the most fun models I have painted. All of my Seraphon stuff, excluding a box of Knights I'm trying to get rid of and the Bastiladon, are painted. Maybe now I should finish my Stormcast Eternal models...or maybe my Khorne models. We'll see what happens. Either way thanks for reading and hope you enjoy.
Hey everyone, been a little bit since I last posted. I promised myself I wouldn't buy any more Seraphon models until I finished my Bastiladon, which I wanted an airbrush to do. Well, yesterday something special came in the mail! Just finished priming, basing, shading, and doing some small details on the body and I finished airbrushing the back carapace which now needs small details like stars and galaxies done. I'm absolutely loving this airbrush already. Hope you guys enjoy!
It is some nice purple on that flying vortex base... but if that skull had been light green it would have looked like skeletor!
Hey everyone! Well, the armor and main body are now done, just gotta add on the Arc and then work on the base. I'm fairly happy with how the airbrushing turned out on the armor pieces, though it could be way better, and my free-handing on the pieces are kind of crappy I'm still fairly happy with how it's turning out. The constellation on the back is the one from the Seraphon Battletome where it talks about the pieces that make up the Seraphon army...Though it's probably gonna be covered for the most part by the Arc so... X3 Anyways hope you all enjoy.
That is a really nice take on the star scheme. I like it a lot. As for the equipment covering it: yeah that's a pity.
I think the equipment covering the design will add to the model, what you could do is add white mist here and there on the shell and maybe a couple of planets. Great effort so far
