AoS Second Edition

To be honest.. if you're a SCE player this must be starting to get annoying as well.
They must be loving it. If we look at it honestly, SCE is the army to play in AoS.

Faction specific spells seem neat though, curious how many faction will actually get some love.
Now that they have monetized these endless spells, you should expect to see many more of them.

This. I hate this.
They were on a good way with the magic and now they do such crap. At least the endless spells should be for everyone and not only for one army.

I could also almost bet that - purely by coincidence of course - the SCE spells are better than the 14 we already know...

Was pretty sure some Grand Alliance-specific endless spells would become a thing, but outright faction specific? That's a lot of new toys to throw around to keep everyone happy. At least we can pick up the SCE's ones via allies, assuming they don't specifically only work for SCEs...

Also, I've been toying with the idea of double Slann lists, so one can summon and one can cast spells. Since we can use summoning to replace needing half our army to be Battleline to get any of our vital synergies going, we've got more allowance for their expensiveness. Kroak + Slann would probably be pushing the prices, but two regular Slann might be doable in 2000+pts games. I feel like most opponents would probably focus the spells one first, if he's a slightly easier target (and why wouldn't he be? Better LoS for spells, acts as an Astrolith for forward summoning positions...)

Speaking of that last bit, I think that's the best aspect of our summoning; Khorne armies need things to have died. Tzeentch armies need spells to have been cast. Death armies need command points, gravesite access, and the unit they need to have already been present and slain. Ours, as far as I can tell, just works. We can move our Slann and Astroliths. We can amass large numbers of summoning points in a hurry if needed, or keep accumulating points on the backburner while focussing other tasks. Most of the things we can summon are available with as few as 12 points, which can be done in a single turn.

The point being, Khorne and Tzeentch armies are reliant on luck and their opposition's plays, and Death is reliant on their own forward thinking and ability to secure objectives prior to needing them. Our summoning does what we want, where we want it, when we want it to. Unlike the other armies that have been explained so far, we have absolute control over our summoning. I think that's going to make us a real danger to a lot of lists that can't adapt quickly to a constantly changing battlefield. Yes, it means our opponents that realise this will be gunning to kill our Slann and Astroliths, but they'll have to get through the rest of our army first...

If they are making special endless spells for all the armys, I cant wait for the seraphon ones! Think of a giant spirit dinosaur floating around the map and biting enemy units!

I mean...to be fair they have to make them for every army.
Knowing GW...they wont.

As they should... they are the proud defenders (and representatives) of the Age of Sigmar!

So this guy looks derpy, and nighthaunt got a sexy reaper kit.

But!!!
Lop off his spiky-signature-siggy head and ditch the skullz encrusted deadshrine...

...replace the lot with a nice Bretonnian Helm and a Grail Banner and we could have right proper Grail Knight Grail Warden.

Unless they would just let people build their spell models from scratch.

I have had several ideas for Geomancer Magick. The obvious one being to conjure a wall of stone.

They probably won’t make endless spells for all the armies - I imagine the Dwarf armies won’t have any such luck :(

It’s at least a good job that any of the Dwarf armies can take a Runelord to provide a 30” unbind, either as an ally or as part of the army itself in the case of Dispossessed...

Although I’m wondering that if an update of Fyreslayers does come round, they might make the Auric Runemaster a wizard with Volcano’s Call as an endless spell he can conjure up - would love to see a tide of lava going around and melting Stormcast and Sylvaneth! :joyful:

Certainly if they decide to give as many armies endless spells as possible, the older armies with casters may well be seeing an update - this will include Seraphon, Bonesplitterz and Skaven Pestilens, the latter two of which are in definite need of additional troop types as well.

Why do the Skaven need additional troop types? They had a ton of troop Types.

About the double Slann thing, it says you forgo casting a spell for the points so if you say he will forgo mystic shield does that count for the rule of one?
