Been slacking off really hard with other things the past few days, not even had a chance to open up the Soul Wars box and have a good look through it! Can't wait to have some time for it though, think I will build the magic spells first and get them ready to go.

But, before all that, I am absolutely intent on finishing the Start Collecting Necrons box I bought, they've been fun to paint so far.

I've got some base colours down on this, just some tidying up and then the edge highlighting fun...

It's a Catacomb Command Barge, apparently! There's a dude that rides it that I am also painting up.

Overall, I must say that despite Necrons being quite easy to paint, they do provide a lot of opportunity for little features that add up over a large amount of models. They look pretty impressive all lined up.

Probably, thinking I will get a couple of Forgebane boxes in a few months and sell the AdMech. I have many, many Nighthaunt I need to paint first and I am considering changing my colour scheme and repainting what I have too, so have my work cut out for a bit before I get to that...

I've so far resisted buying the Nightaunt, I've got the spells to paint and around 40 Seraphon then the Ironjawz.

My backlog is actually ridiculous. I'm going to do some Nighthaunt while motivation is high and try and drop in some other things in between to get them done. There's a fair bit of stuff I should probably just eBay at this point...

Ebay is my bane, I was thinking of ebaying all the Ironjawz but then I thought again I would only buy something else!

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I would only be selling old stuff in order to buy Forgebane boxes and more Nighthaunt stuff... That then would sit there and never get painted.

I need to make a list with priorities and give things a go, even if its to table top. Getting a new puppy in 2 weeks so once that happens its gonna be slacking painting time again...

Nice work mate! To me this is a perfect example of how having a solid paint scheme and uniformity really brings an army to life!

As a Necron player myself these are worth likes aplenty in my view - Especially the shortened Gauss Flayers on the Warriors - that really sets them apart from other armies and I love it!

One of the most fun things about starting a new army in my eyes is building up a load of fluff about it - what are its leaders and units like? What makes them tick? Who do they hate? Who do they see as worthy allies? Where are they from? All of these can be answered by your imagination alone. I look forward to seeing what you come up with as your Necron dynasty!

Also I am present over on Necrontyr Online and I know for a fact that they would love to see your minis there - it's all quiet over there at the moment but I'm hoping things will liven up again soon as Kill Team approaches.

Glad you like them! I took a look at the Necrontyr Online, but the colour theme gave me a headache in under 30 seconds so that'll be a hard pass from me. Feel free to post them on my behalf though!

Wow, it's been a really long time since I posted anything.... Between moving house, job madness and baby on the way I have not had any time for anything, though I have squeezed in a bit, let's start from what I got up to after the Necrons.... I took a few months break, and then at the start of the year I painted this Necromancer:
