Going to prime these saurus guard and crack on with painting my mates skaven warlord. Seems fair as I’ve mainly been doing lizards for past few weeks.

I was pretty productive the last two days:
    - finished my Necromancer
    - primed all the Endless Spells
    - basecoated the Quicksilver Swords 80%
    - basecoated, shaded, and highlighted the Soulsnare Shackles (now only missing their bases)

Still trying to write this 1000 point list for my Seraphon, obvious choices are taking a Slann with Astrolith and EotG with 2 units of Saurus and 1 of Skinks for battleline but now I'm not so sure.
Feels like I am relying on the leaders too much, of course chances are that the Overlords will just pelt them with bullets. I have a feeling some other dwarves are in there too. I don't know what he is bringing.

Building right now and I noticed that it's one built that can be posable. Makes me wonder how I will paint a poseable model now

The legs have these plastic joints you push in, the tail kinda just slots into two holes, the end of the tail acts a bit like a ball joint. The part for the head I can't name but it just moves the head up and down. All fully plastic.
My dad questioned why I didn't paint it all before putting together but the manual doesn't mention painting them beforehand... I think, it's just different languages everywhere. Going to be a while painting it and making sure paint doesn't chip when I move the joints.

Model aircraft guys typically paint everything before assembly. But they are careful not to get any paint on any surface or edge that takes glue.

Then they go back and touch-up any flaws that occurred during assembly. Some of that technique could be useful for this kit. (But they are meticulous about what paint was applied where, careful notes kept, pre-mixed paints just the right shade, “RAF Blue #7” and the like.)

Does writing rules for a custom character count towards "what are you doing today hobbywise"?

Might have to do that the next time I build one of these kits. Just this one will be harder now haha. The paints it came with are not a great selection, just by looking it might end up looking bland. Citadel paints will chip ever so easy when moving the joints around.

I recently put an order in for Settra, Khalida, Ezekiel, and two Cadian snipers when I stopped by the FLGS after class. I promptly spent the rest of the afternoon being an unofficial salesman for the store whilst spectating two Lord of the Rings games (Mirkwood and Lake Town).

Yep. The local LotR gaming group is active enough that they get together on a regular (weekly) basis, and numerous enough to take over the gaming tables with their own terrain when they do so.
