The list: Salamander Primes Horde(40) Horde(40) Ghekkotah Hunters Troop(10) Troop(10) Fire Elementals Large Horde(6) Ghekkotah Skyraiders Horde(6) Lekelidon Lekelidon Fire Drake Mage-Priest Hero (Inf) - Bane Chant (2) 15 - Surge (8) 35 Clan Lord on Fire Drake Hero (Mon) - Can have wings (gaining Fly and increasing Speed to 10) Ghekkotah Skylord Hero (LrgCav) 1990 So summer is over and I am about to have my first match. I like to play around with different monsters and settup, but With a forum nearby (that i managed to find ) I figured I could cheat a little and get some pre-match feedback
I would find a way to give those Skyraiders the Jar of the Four Winds, that is a must. I personally don't like the Hunters but I've seen them used with good results. You are also running a bit low on Inspiring. Giving the Mage-Priest the Inspiring Talisman would be a very good idea.
Salamander Primes Horde Salamander Primes Horde - Brew of Strength 30 Fire Elementals Horde - Brew of Haste 15 Ghekkotah Skyraiders Horde - Jar of the Four Winds 35 Ancients on Rhinosaurs Horde - Blessing of the Gods 25 Lekelidon Lekelidon Mage-Priest - Surge (8) 35 - Inspiring Talisman 20 Clan Lord on Fire Drake - Wings - Blade of Slashing 5 Ghekkotah Skylord - Quicksilver Rapier Shoot, I forgot to add room for some items. So a bit more like this.
So I played two matches With this list. Agains Goblins; By the start of turn 5 I only had the Ghekkotah Skyraiders left, and had managed to kill a hero and a war-machine. Altho this was more of a "oops, is that how that Works?" match, getting me aclimated to the KoW rules and feel. Against Dwarves; By the start of turn 5 he had a horde of infantry and five heroes left, and had killed my Fire elemental and the non-potioned Primes. To be fair, he was using a "fun" list With no ranged units, fielding lots of infantry and boar-riders. In the goblin match, nothing realy worked for me aside from the Clan Lord and (to some extent) the Ghekkotah Skyraiders. Regeneration, high troll/giant armor and the absurd Luck discreapansy made this match extreamly one-sided. Against the Dwarves I learned to love the Leikadon, the blessed Rhinos, and Pathfinder. One Horde of Primes held back two heroes, two Boar-riders, and botlenecked a horde of infantry and more Boar-riders, witch alowed me to hit his other infantry With all my Heavys. With my overwhelming firepower i nicled-and-dimed his boar-riders to Death, eventualy sacrificing my Lekelidons setting up for the implyed boardwhipe. Next time I am thinking of switching the Skyriders for a horde of Warriors and the Elemetals for a Greater Version
Alright. A little wile has passed and I thought I would post my New list. I have had the skylord and primes W/strenght and the Rhinos on a lot of my lists, but i have fallen out of love With them and thought I would try something New. Ghekkotah Warriors (Horde) - Hammer of Measured Force 20 Ghekkotha Warriors (Horde) - Brew of Strenght Fire Elementals (Horde) - Brew of Haste Kaisenor Lancers (Troop) - Kevinar’s Flying Hammer Kaisenor Lancers (Troop) - War-bow of Kaba Ghekkotah Skyraiders (Horde) - Jar of the Four Winds Lekelidon Lekelidon Mage-Priest - Bane Chant (2) - Heal (3) - Surge (8) - Black Iron Crown Clan Lord on Fire Drake - wings - Heart-seeking Chant Agnih-Bhanu, Greater Fire Elemental Experimental--- I figgure I need some chaff and I thought I'd pack some anti-chaf in there as well. The Kaisernors looked Perfect for this job. The bow and hammer are because i had 10 Points to spare. In my meta Group i realised i needed more speed, so Warriors With ekstra damage on top seemed like a good sub for the primes. The fire elemental (monster 160p) was a Complete bust but hopefully Agnih will make a good sub for the Rhinos and a smaller/easier-to-protect target. Tried and True--- The horde of elementals, Clan Lord, skyraiders and a toolbox Mage-priest is, has been, and (I think) always will be staples of my list Love those guys. The Lekelidon is a constant Source of internal debate for me. De does nothing or is awesome in pure 50/50 split. Every time I think I will remove him, he suddely hits for all the marbles and routs a threthening Orc cavalry or wavers a troll horde for several turns. He is infuriatingly inconsistent, and I relate so hard. Further Ideas--- Considering adding Artakl for the extra Inspiring, altho I dont know how to fit it in. And Danor the Wizard because he looks alot of fun.
