Hello, I'm new to Seraphon and am leaning towards a Thunderquake Starhost batallion. My question is, after looking through various army lists, most people tend to field the skink handlers and razordons/salamanders rather than kroxigors. What is the thought process behind this decision? Are kroxigors not good in thunderquake?

It is mostly due to how strong Razordons become once they are rerolling failed hits and failed wounds through the Astrolith Bearer and Battalion buffs. I personally like Kroxigors because of their fluff, but they are a little lack luster on the table.

Same here. I like Krox, but they are just not the strongest unit for their point cost.
They are by no means bad, just...meh. We have better stuff.

I dunno healing d3 per model kroxigor wise is pretty good - but they have to be fielded in a good size unit (6+) which obviously costs a fair chunk - razors cost significantly less for just as much sting, but it really depends on what you are facing (as usual)

Doesnt the healing only apply to the monsters in that batallion. IT's been awhile since I ran Thunderquake.

When I did however I ran Kroxigor. That battallion makes anything good cause you can literally reroll everything with the right stuff.

It does apply to non-monster units, too.
So if you have an injured Kroxigor in your unit he will also regenerate. It is a shame that you cannot split wounds between models in that case. If you could, then healing up to per model would be mega-awesome.

Hmm So it does lol, I think I never really had the situation where I could heal them. They were either fully alive or dead lol.

Yeah Razordons just outclass the Kroxigors as horde killers!

Against the right opponent the kroxigor will batter the hell out of them (remember their mortal wound capabilities) - as figurednon another post not long ago their jaws combined with a skink priests staff could knock out some nasty extra damage, but yeah razors are nice (my new favourite) never really used them much before other than a cost filler - but I watched a guy teleport 2x units of 4 around the table and they just caused mayhem.
