Thanks! Really happy with how they turned out myself, especially the greens. Now here's hoping I can keep the quality up (or even better, raise it!) for the rest!
Finished 23 skinks finally, now to get the shields off the sprues and paint those Also started some terrain due to an upcoming event with my local AOS group, this is the start of my first acrane ruins, turned out a bit darker that I hoped but live and learn. I'll use it with my Slaves to Darkness army I'm building.
Thanks guys! I am really happy with the patterning and weathering and really suprised at how easy it was to achieve! Drybrushing is a miracle unto mankind
Ok, so wow, 3 months since I last had something worth posting.... that's..... just shameful. Well here is my latest work, a WIP test scheme for my Chaos Undivided Knights. Working on the armour was fun, lots of washing on that, the copper is pretty basic, the sword was where I kinda got stuck. Glazes and washing were my best bet and even then I feel like I could have done a bit better. Some touch ups to do and maybe add some colour to the eyes or mouth on the shield Anyway, as usual, please tear me apart C&C are always appreciated
I know, I should be ashamed of myself... falling to corruption so easily. But it's so enticing.... The Old Ones would smite me if they saw how low I fell. Thanks though, I'm pretty happy with how the armour turned out myself, I was trying to go for a black metalic but that didn't really work out so this is what I ended up with. Happy little accidents as a certain painter would say.
Alright lets see when my last update here was..... aaaaannnnnddddd almost 6 months ago. Dear god. What have I been doing? Well as long as I'm here might as well throw up my current project, a rendering of the great Sotekian prophet himself. I entered a 7 day painting comp with another warhammer group 3 days ago and just started this afternoon. Here's hoping he's done in time and looking good too. (Sorry for the potato photos, I'm away from my usual setup this weekend)
With the deadline for Tenny about 4 hours ago I got some pretty decent work out of it I think. This is probably my personal pick of best mini I've painted so far, but I'll leave the decision to everyone else.
And now for my 1 post a year, a Mercenary Captain for my Mordheim Reiklanders, I managed to get this guy out in 1 day so I'm super happy about that, and also realy proud about how the whites turned out. C&C greatly appreciated as usual, thanks!
Hello everyone, long time no post, I missed you all. I've been getting pretty busy in the last... uuuhhh... 2.. years... jeez, has it really been that long? Anyway, yes, painting I have done some, I'll have some photos of my army progress coming soon, but right now I want to show you my current project, the mighty Kroq-Gar himself, with his trusty partner Grymloq! I have joined in to the Monster March event setup by the wonderful Swordmaster, on his blog, and I will be coming back here every week this month to show off my progress and eventually the final project. I reccomend you drop over and check him out if you like battle reports or want to see the results of this event. (http://swordmasterofhoeth.blogspot.com/2022/02/monster-march-6-introduction.html) This week I have started putting my base coats down, some colour tests to what I like best, especially with the cream colours, and planning my method of attack. My plan is to go for a "Classic" colour scheme of blue, red, cream and gold. With the ultimate test in my mind being the base beneath. This will be my first real scenic base, and I think I may have set my bar a bit high. With the current plan being a small jungle scape with a creek running through the middle, complete with resin and water effects. I look forward to bringing you all on this journey with me and seeing how it all goes! Thank you all in advance
Great start! If anyone deserves a scenic base it’s these guys! Best Lizardmen fluff out of all of them in my opinion.
I am back again! A few days late maybe but I made it! And that's what counts. Not a huge amount of progress this week (damn you work) but some solid work I think, got like 80% of the base colours down and I can spend this week coming adding some layers and detail work. I'm really happy with how the base colours are working together though and am excited to continue.
Last update before the final product. First of all, thank you all for your kind words, they mean a lot to me, and I'm glad youve enjoyed seeing these little updates. This week not a lot of progress, mostly focusing on getting those skin tones and highlights for the big boy right, tried a few colours before I came to these tones, I think they came out fairly well. We also did the basing work, and I gotta say I'm pretty happy with it. With how I have made it at this point I'm begining to doubt if I really want the water resin now, but I guess I'll figure that out in the next.... oh Sotek, 4 days.... crap, I need to hustle. From here I will be finishing up the smaller details, the throne embeleshments and the gold work. Thanks again for coming with me on this one guys.
