Announcement Server Maintainance

    The Old Ones have deemed the current hardware obsolete, and Mazdamundi has awakened from his slumber to verify that everything is completed according to the plan.

    The skinks have already started to carry over the gold slabs with information, ensuring nothing is lost during the transfer.


    There should be minimal downtime for the forum during the transfer, though this time we will disable new posts on the forum during the transfer to the new server. It has not been decided when exactly this will happen yet, but it will be within the next few days.

    If anyone noticed that avatar pictures or some images did not load. It was caused by us preparing for the migration. This has been sorted, and they should all show properly again now.

    We will initiate the full migration tomorrow (Monday) or on Tuesday.

    By now, everyone should be able to view the forum on the new server.

    We have tried to move over all settings from the old server, but there is a few new mod rewrite rules (for security against hacking), so it is possible that there could be a conflict.

    If anyone has any issues, please let us know in this thread and we will look into it.

    I am not sure if it is server related, but some times the site had trouble loading. This happens on different devices.

    Is this something that has happened recently?

    If, what do you mean by "trouble loading". What exactly happens? And how long does it take before the page works again?

    The last 3 days or so there have been periods(10 -15 minutes) that pages will not load. When this happens during creating a post I can't use any of the buttons (Post reply, Upload a File or More Options...)

    Hi, since yesterday I cannot upload photos to posts. I am getting "server error occured. Please try again." Error message. I tried it on android chrome browser as well as on PC firefox.

    I had a similar issue. When the server was initially updated I could make a few posts before the website would freeze up completely for an hour or two. After waiting for 1-2 hours, the site would work again but freeze up again after a few posts. This went on for a couple of days until the website stopped working all together (it won't load at all, almost as if I had no internet connection even though I do and all other websites work perfectly). I honestly thought that the forum was down for everybody. I am surprised to see that the forum has been at least somewhat working for everybody else all this time. Today I am at my folks' place and for the first time in a week or two I have been able to successfully load the forum website on my smartphone on their wifi. Maybe it is an IP issue? @The Red Devil

    I am guessing that when I arrive back home again tomorrow and am on my home network, the website will go back to being completely inaccessible. If you guys don't hear from me, then that is the case

    Maybe I need a VPN to access the forum now :(
    . Or perhaps this is the universe's way of telling me that I have posted enough.


    Howdy @Lizards of Renown . Long time no see. This is why I have been absent. In the meantime, I did drop a few likes on a couple of your posts on the Chaos Dwarfs Online forum! (under a sneaky different name though). In my absence, it falls to you to fight the good fight on behalf of Warhammer Proper and the Chaos Dwarfs.     Will look into this tomorrow, I have received a bunch of cases now that I can look into to try and narrow this down. The file upload is strange, as I did make some changes to the mod security rules on a test post to allow me to upload.

    Are you guys trying to upload one or multiple images at once, and approx what file size is each image? (Will help with testing to verify that it is fixed)

    So the image upload was due to a setting changed by a mistake by the server provider. Have sorted that, so the image uploads should be working again now.

    For the issues with posting etc. by going through the logs I've spotted five ModSecurity rules that are triggered again and again, so those have been whitelisted. Hopefully, that will sort out any issues people are experiencing.

    Of course if you still experience any problems, please let me know.
