As it pretty much seems that a lot of god-chars is going around in the end times I would like to hear you guys let it flow If Undead gets Nagash if Chaos gets a Glottkin if humankind gets their Ascended Karl Franz What lizardry giant will emerge to fight the skaven back?! I read a comment by Alltaken on Warseer (are you here too mate?) that I liked God-Gar or Nak-zilla? Either would do it for me. Realistically (if that still counts for anything) I think its either Mazdamundi or Kroq-Gar. I would clearly prefer the later, as he is in trouble fluff-wise and I would hate to lose the old scaly bastard, OR Grymloq for that matter.... Maybe he finds a new button on his "Hand of Gods"
How about another return of Nakai (the legenary unkillable albino Kroxigor) ? (It would make Rikard happy) [old rules] http://replay.waybackmachine.org/20...izardmen/gaming/campaign/characters/nakai.htm [other old rules] (better) http://sgabetto.free.fr/Telechargements/nakai.pdf
I would prefer anything but a wizard. Krog'gar isn't really on the top of my most liked characters, but from our current line-up of characters, he is easily the most fitting. A warrior would be preferable, because as we saw with nagash, wizards either become a massive point sink that is easily countered, or a complete monster you can't possible stop. A slann would too easily fall into either - with too mediocre rules (Like Nagash), he is too easy to shut down. With too GOOD rules, like a return of cupped hands, he becomes an unstoppable monster that will spend his first couple of turns turning enemy mages to mush, and then blowing up the rest of the enemy army afterwards. the good thing about wizards, or anything capable of bunkering, is that they have protection from some of the bullshit choices warhammer currently has for some armies (cannons, and anything similar to it, with S10, no armour d6 multiwounds). An "Uber" krog'gar would still be vulnerable to the usual 3 cannons blasting away at him from turn 1, and even with a statline on par with Nagash, he'd still need luck to ever his CC. I'd actually love an older version of Gor'rok. More wounds, better statline, with resilient = no kb/hkb/multiwounding him to death in 1 turn, tons of additional attacks with a better chance at getting PF, and dangerous terrain tests at -1 to anyone charging him? Oh yes please. It would easily be a character worth taking, at least for me - they don't NEED to be insane killing machines. Being unkillable would be just as awesome.
i would love to see either Gor-rok or Kroq-Gar, but I do not think it will be either of those, given how huge Nagash and Glottkin is, unless of course Grymloq accidentally eats some fertilizer. (like it seems Deathclaw did, when comparing him to the griffons the high elves have acces to). i think, if we even gets something, it will be Mazdamundi as the fluff presents Zlaaq as a huge specimen, so they could just make a bigger stegadon and put Mazdamundi on top. Or we could get something we do not know anything about yet. But at the end of the day I hope for Kroq-Gar.
In all seriousness Please note that a new model isn't needed. The new rules for "Karl Franz Ascended" is joined with his existing model. The BIG models are only given to the characters who lay name to the actual books. As there is no rumors of "Endtimes: Mazdamundi", and as he has no model yet, there are no indicators for this to happen. (That of course doesn't mean that it cant) Unless a lizardmen book is in the horizon, I think we need to look for existing models, which makes Kroq-gar the likeliest candidate as he just got renewed.
All right I had not thought about that karl Franz did not get a new model, just new rules. That probably makes kroq-gar more likely. as you say: As there is no rumors of "Endtimes: Mazdamundi". there probably will not be a lizardmen end times book. It makes me more positive about a kroq-gar rule upate.
It can still happen. No one can tell if no more than the 4 rumored books will come. could be 4 until 9th gets released, and then the rest.... In any case: we WILL get our turn. or else having 1 page (even though its the first) of 2 books out of 4 is unforgivable
I'm all for Nakai! I've been waiting for his character to reemerge. The skink pretty much worship him like a god, so... why not let him play his part? Didn't he hold the Star Bridge or something, alone, against 5 legions of daemons? Sounds rather god like if you ask me. As a rule, I don't like running special characters, but I might make an exception if they came out with good ol Nakai.
Now I'm really thinking we could get a Nakai model. After all he does turn up at the most crucial times So seeing as these are the End Times... I mean come on Nakia, where've you been all this time? Nagash is trying to take over the world! I can't see them killing off Kroq-gar though, since we just got his model last year
+3D6 for Nakai. Sounds amazing, fun, interesting and best of all he's another albino lizzy. Gotta say though I hope they gave us a new chakax rules. Maybe give our TG a little miscast protection would be nice. Or somebody that can stand up to a DP when the slann is there to be protected. If fact if they could redo ALL of our SC that'd be great Oh and make the D3 vanguard an item
If only we could get our own book. Mazdamundi as the uber character and Kroq-Gor as one of his commanders. ._. Since that aint happening I'm guessing Kroq-Gar.
Yup. What we definitely need is an uber-Skink Chief, geared up for close combat with all sorts of special rules and magic items...all of which will cease to function when his abysmal WS and T get him killed in turn 1. That would really capture the essence of a Skink Chief. My first choice for an uber character would be the Coatl - a big feathered serpent, avatar of Tepok, a creature of both physical strength and tremendous magical power. Kroq-Gar has his model, and he just felt like a random inclusion in the 8th edition book. I'd like to see him actually have a place in the Warhammer world again. But really, I'd like to Chakax made into an unstoppable killing machine.
If you had read the quote in the message you quoted, you would have seen I didn't want Tiktaq'To to be the uber character (Much less the only character) that got a buff. But really, an uber skink? If we got such a thing, you already know it would have at least WS6 or 7, likely ASF along with Initiative 9, and some poisoned weapon which wounds on 5+ or 4+. It's all about giving them the right stats. An uber Saurus would realistically still have a bad initiative, and no ASF. This means they could still go down in one turn. Skinks are known for their quickness, and ASF + high initiative and poison would make them dangerous to most foes. Though they'd likely cost far less than uber heroes like Karl Franz. My personal pick from our current SCs would definetely be Gor-rok, if only because it would be hillarious to have a high toughness, high wounds model that ignores multiple wounds on a 2+
I don't think an "End Times: Mazdamundi" is completely out of the question for a few reasons. I'm pretty sure it's End Times: Khaine next but there's still a fourth End Times book to come after that. The opening pages in Nagash are dedicated to Mazdamundi, and him SAYING something, giving orders is a pretty huge thing. Chaos are The Old Enemy for Lizardmen, there are few opponents more fitting to make a huge impact on Chaos's incursion.
Nakai all the way. Put him on a 50mm base, and allow him to cohort with Saurus or Temple Guard like a normal Skrox unit. Also - Karl Franz got his new rules in the Glottkin book. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Lizardmen super character(s) get their rules in the Skaven book (assuming they get one).
Its even more possible now that Darnok from Warseer revealed that there will be the elf book, and the not one but TWO more books
