    Hi guys,

i started ages ago a thread in here which i would like to reboot now that i am doing a complete do over (almost) on my models.. I started out with the basing as i want to do something custom for my army.. Hope you enjoy.. :)

    just a small prologue.. :)

Kai'Tzatl, "a forgotten Slann", a devoted follower of the god Xokha, The spirit of stone, the giver of strength and the Arbiter of Duty. Kai'Tzatl was banished long ago by the Slanns of the known world for being Fanatic in their way of waging war.. The Slann decided to withdraw to a very distant part of the jungle where he found the Spawning pools of Loq'Tzatl.

For many years the Slann used his powers to gather and train the Warriors of the Loq'Tzatl into fierce regiments of Saurus Warriors, Dangerous Cold one riders and Devoted Templeguards to protect the Slann and guard the temples of the god Xokha.

The Warriors of Loq'Tzatl are known for their yellow skin and their purple scales which are not usual in the world of Lustria. It is said that in ancient times the pools were touched by the god Xokha. Xokha's pressence and the gods magical powers was absorbed by the pools and thereby changed the genes of the spawnings. This is believed to be the reason of the yellow skin compared to the rest of Lustria which is inhabited by the usual blue skinned Lizardmen.

The Slann who was banished so long ago started to make his pressence known by attacking the Slann's who banished him long ago and thereby claiming his rightfull place as a respected Slann of Lustria. The Slann became known as Kai'Tzatl. "Kai" meaning "Forgotten" and Tzatl was taken from from the sacred pools of Loq'Tzatl.

Be aware what parts of the Jungle you venture into.. If you find yourself surrounded by yellowskinned Lizardmen you have already ventured too far.!!

... Well I do feel like you have painted quite well, :artist:
but you forgot the bright highlights, and they come off a bit flat. :meh:
I think if you did that your paint scheme would really shine. ;)

Don't get me wrong, I really like your Lizardmen,
I just think they could be a little more awesome. :artist:

Ps. I know highlighting yellow is difficult.

That is so cool! I love that your bases come together to form a diorama of sorts. Do you have them numbered on the bottom of the base for easy assembling?

They look good but I agree with @n810, highlighting the yellow more will really help it stand out, try a mix of your yellow with kislev flesh and then one pure kislev flesh and if you want to edge highlight white and kislev flesh mix.

Reason I use Kislev is it's a tad orangey so it keeps the yellow warm and stops it looking chalky, ofc it depends on your yellow base colour, experiment on a old model.

    But they are GREAT!!

just got finished with my first Skirmish base..

@Crowsfoot - Well i might look a bit into that.. thx for the info :)

@NIGHTBRINGER - Yes.. all of them have numbers underneath.. i need to tweak the edges a bit as they are a really tight fit right now.. its going to be a bit tough when getting them in and out of the movement tray easy.. :)

and with no further ado.. Skirmish base :)

The scheme is nice, that's for sure. But the bases definitely take the cake

:jawdrop: Jaw dropping. (I hope that's what that particular emoticon is......)

The scheme is very nice but those bases are UNFREAKINGREAL! Consider this idea stolen, just need to pop about 110ish Saurus and Skinks off their bases......
