    Hello there, lustrous Lustrians!

I have seen these kinds of threads in other forums, so though we could have one here as well. Tell us how you fund your plastic crack addiction! I thought we could add a twist and maybe include how, if at all, your chosen profession/job benefits your hobby other than the money.

What, you want me to start? Well, I guess that's only fair...

I'm a Biochemistry major, currently chasing after a PhD in the field of cancer biology. My job doesn't have many benefits, but I guess the years used to practice pipetting microlitre amounts to small containers taught me how to steady my hands, which is pretty important when I paint, as my hands are quite shaky. Other than that... hmm, I can bring home distilled water, denatured alcohol, isopropanol and other chemicals that are useful for paint thinning and stripping miniatures. The latter I haven't tried, though.

    Ok, who's next?

For a living!!!.....that basically comes down to not getting divorced from my wife. Yeah, she makes the monies. Her work is also the reason we moved from Netherlands to Turkey.

I spent my time with....a phd in archaeology, and something with two little horribly spoilt snotlings.

Back in the Netherlands i used to work as an archaeologist, but that never really made a living.

And benefits for the hobby???? patience, bucket loads of sand, plenty of inspiration for terrain.....and I always win WW2 wargames, as you all know archaeologists are very good at shooting Nazi's ;)

Does industrial painting help with miniature painting? At least you know the importance of base coating, I guess...

Special Education teacher. I'd like to say the job helps me be patient, but I think I use it all up at work. Sitting down and painting isn't my forte, but I do enjoy the game! Pretending to command a massive army and match my wits against someone else is a great way to relieve some stress.

That is Nemrut Dag (Mount Nemrut).
Built as a tomb for Antiochus, last king of Commagene, before the Romans took over.

When I was a student, I got to dissect bodies. Comes in handy more often than you would think.

I'm a Controls Engineer. I control things. What things? Anything you want! Kinda like a mercenary. Got into this because I like to know how things work, and how to make them work how I want them to work.

For benefits to my hobby, probably not too many. There is a pretty clear line in the sand between work and Warhammer.

I am at times a blacksmith, helping out other smiths as I do not have a shop of mine own, also a cook though currently unemployed in that regard.
I am also a student of Medieval and Classical Studies (specializing in the Migration era and the Celts respectively), though that too is a part time thing.

I also have several novels in the works that are "being considered for publication"
