    Hi guys!
I have a question, but my English isn't the best. I hope you undestand.

Do you know why Seraphon's Cold One moves 7" and Darks Elve's Cold One moves 10"?
Saurus Scar-Veteran on Cold One moves 10" too....

    Can it be wrong?

    Regards

app and book both give these distinctions.. only thing I can see is that the Scar vet's Cold -one is better trained? And DE still need to be updated to real AoS standards

Maybe cause the rider is lighter? An elf may not be as heavy as a saurus. The single models does go further than a saurus, but i might be totally off lol

Isn't that because of marching? When marching they move14" maybe can the scar vet march on his own? But i have no idea about the dark elves...
Edit: Had a short look. DE cold ones don't have marching, so one could say that our maximum speed is even higher... But that without charging and shooting...

You cant march without Wardrum. DE cant march but they have reroll with his wardrum...

True. But maybe gw thoughts were that a possible marching movement of 20 would be too much? And due to no pointcosts you can always have the wardrums...

Nice point of view, but i think 7" is to low stat. In a normal move, skinks move more than Cold one....

Yes cold ones are stupid and have to ask the way when moving "spontaneously". ;)

I see your point. But I remember a western movie from my childhood where old shatterhand tells his mate the same about Indians ( apache) and horses. Something like:"when they are on horses they're quick but without them they're quicker." ;)

Skinks are nimble footed, Coldones are lumpersome and heavy footed hence the lower movement maybe, Nauglir are better trained I believe so maybe that is why they move more?

And they are reptiles from a cold icy island (still so in aos?) so in normal climate their metabolism speeds up and their movement is quicker. Also these are two kinds of cold ones... Raptor lustrianus and R. draggothianus to be scientific. ;)

Haha! I honestly thought the lower movement was just the old stupidity rule built in! On average they would be stupid once per game, so low movement was how they accounted for it!

I'd have imagined that the Saurus Knights are slower because our Cold Ones have to carry 8ft tall reptilian death machines around, while the Elven Cold Ones only need to carry poncy little elves who won't weigh any more than a fairy.
Our Hero would likely be faster because he doesn't need to move in formation like the units do, allowing him more freedom when moving and letting him speed along faster. The units, however, need to move as slow as their slowest Cold One, which the Hero need not do.

As far as I know, Cold ones have always had 7" movement (5th-8th editions).

    Hi everyone!
I think that it have no sense, marching allow us to move 14'' if our movement is 7''
Running if our movement were 10'' allow us to move 10'' + 3.5'' (average), the same with the same penalizations.
But if our movement were 10'' it would be much better, so marching option is a bad thing!

(sorry about my english, it's very poor)

Think it this way: We gain a half inch average move on running and let out the lower numbers... ;) ok 20" marching would be great but you can't have everything. So think positive!

It's true, we have to think positive! :) but the point is that I want to move 10 + charge, than march 14 and do not charge :( or move only 7 and try to charge ;)
