I have another 1100 point game vs the Skaven tonight, totally forgot to come up with a reasonable list. On my person I have the following: 40 Warriors 25 Skinks 1 Bastiladon 2 Bastiladon size bases - we proxy stuff often, so these could be literally anything 2 Battlemage (Technically Mistweaver Saih and a Spellweaver, so could technically be those either - see above) 1 Spriest I am thinking something along the following lines: Allegiance: Order Leaders Battlemage (100) Celestial Hurricanum With Celestial Battlemage (320) Battleline 10 x Skinks (80) 10 x Skinks (80) 10 x Saurus Warriors (100) Units 5 x Chameleon Skinks (120) Behemoths Bastiladon (300) Total: 1100/1100 Battlelines are all complete chaff, the main event is as always the Bastiladon. I am thinking Battlemage as a healer kept as far back as I can to avoid being nuked out by his shooty bastards, giving the Bastiladon D3 wounds back per turn. Drop the chamos into some terrain to buy me some time. Hurricanum gets within range of the long nines and blows up some rats. Might be worth noting that the only way I've beaten these Skaven at anything below 2k points is at 700 points which was a 40 warrior steamroll. Take that as you will. He is super super shooty and overcharges stuff and it hurts, a lot.
Indeed, looks good. Another option may be to take the priest instead of the one battlemage, to buff up the bastiladon even further.
I got destroyed. He killed a unit of skinks, the warriors and my Bastiladon in turn one. Starting to lose motivation, nothing I do seems to matter if he's rolling 30 odd dice worth of shooting attacks.... Thinking maybe a new fully mixed order list might be required and just play some filth and be that guy...
I've done some reading and apparently everything I've played so far is considered "filth" - the storm cannons and other Skaven stuff, and sayl the whatever in the other match... So kind of less surprising I'm getting wrecked. Might have to find some other opponents.
Wow, these guys don't sound too fun to play against. Why don't they up the points value? At 1100 I might go like: Leaders Saurus Scar-Veteran on Cold One (100) Jade Battlemage (100) Battleline 10 x Saurus Warriors (100) - Clubs 10 x Saurus Warriors (100) - Clubs 10 x Saurus Warriors (100) - Clubs Behemoths Bastiladon (300) Bastiladon (300) Total: 1100/1100 Depending on the scenario of course.
We are one of those armies that start to shine when synergy happens.. unfortunately not much of synergy can be done before 2000p.. and yes they were as cheesy as they could
