hi guys, don't know how many of you are still playing 8th edition, I still am. I have played two battles with my Lizzies recently and lost both, one to high elves and one to drawfs. Playing again against high elves 2500 points on Saturday. I must win this time haha. Anyway he will prob have swords masters, dragon princes with lords and other hard hitting things, don't know his list. I was thinking of using a horde of 50 spear sarus with 2 scar vets, 3 x 12 skink skirmishers a slann light bunker a stegadon and 2x3 sallies this time, what do you guys think? Any tips? Thanks in advance

Man I hated fighting High elves... I think you are on the right track though. bring lots of anti-magic equipment. and your lucky he doesn't have more archers. but hose fliers are a complete pain, I had an opponent who used his to march block me across the board while he shot up my infantry. dedicate your skinks to eradicating them.
I don't have very much experience with High Elves, but they are definitely tough matchup. The units you listed seem ideal, but I would be hesitant in regards to the stegadon. He might fall easily to the bolt throwers. Good placement and movement of the salamanders will be critical, they can really put a hurting on high elves. I agree with the advice provided by @n810 , utilize your skinks effectively and bring sufficient anti magic.
Oh yea, you might consider trading the stegadon for more salamanders or maybe razordons, if you have more. baring that perhaps a unit of chameleons to take out those bolt throwers.
Here we go my list, sorry about how long it took, puppy and children getting in the way, how selfish of them lol hope this works
True that I shall try my hardest, anyone played a horde of 50 sarus with spear and shield before 60'attacks I believe?
Don't worry, there are plenty of people still playing 8th around. You've got a little work to do. What exactly is your plan using the Lore of Light? Other than a low casting value, I find it to be rather underwhelming. I'd also avoid the Lores of Metal and Fire. High Elves usually have plenty of resistance to fire and not enough armor to worry about. The Lore of High magic can work rather well for you here though. It has two awesome signature spells, Soul Quench (magic missile) - which can be boosted to devastating effect, and Drain Magic - which is great for dispelling those high-cast-value spells like Firey Convocation (which you should watch out for). Apotheosis can be good for healing your characters - which you have a lot of btw. Hand of Glory can be good and is cheap. Walk Between Worlds and Tempest - best swapped for a signature spell. Arcane Unforging - Bye-bye Book of Hoeth or Banner of the World Dragon! And Firey Convocation - Lord help the unit that this goes off on! That's what I'd go with on magic. Your Lords and Heroes: What exactly are you planning with each of them? Most of these will be cut down before they get to swing. What does the Blade of Realities do? I can't remember and can't make out the small print from your photo. If you do take this option, you better have a great plan for it because it's expensive! Plus, it's not protecting your Lord very much. He'd be all offensive and need a defensive character with him to accept challenges you don't think you can win. Also, the Stegadon Helm is best used on an Oldblood or Vet on Cold One. I'd mount him if I could. He might even make a good lone cowboy hunting down Bolt Throwers. But if that's the role you want for him, a Charmed Shied might work better since he could shrug off that first bolt. Your Casters look good. Something else to consider that can give your Warriors a nice boost is a couple of Jungle Swarms. If they sit next to your Warriors, they grant them poisoned attacks. Plus, they protect your flanks nicely. If you have the points, a Bastilladon with the Arc of Sotec sitting behind the Jungle Swarms will not only add to their number, but also give a strong flank defense. A couple of Terradons can give you much more range and versatility in the movement department as well as another unit that can put pressure on his ranged options. Those rocks can hit his Spearmen unit really hard as well! I agree with everyone else in that Salamanders will probably win or lose the game for you. Use them wisely. I DO however think that a Stegadon with a Bolt Thrower option would be a good idea. Not only does it hit hard (yes to the Sharpened Horns upgrade) but the Bolt Thrower is the bane of knights. You notice his Prince and BSB are both mounted? That can be a good way to deal with them early. Plus, it's another unit that can deter long-charging units. I hope this helps!
probably light speed and other saurus boosting spells. (initiative 10 will negate the ASF re-roll shenanigans)
Hmmm, maybe, but that's basing a whole lot on getting one spell. Plus, he can simply put everything toward stopping that one spell from going off. That's not too difficult for a magic oriented army like HE. IMHO, he needs other strong spell threats as well. Lore of Life could work as well because HE will do everything to stop Dwellers Below from going off. That spell can destroy their units if it goes off on them.
Elves definitely hate Dwellers... strength 3 doesn't bode well against that spell and their precious Banner of the World Dragon is useless as well.
