so, i have been hearing that you can buy command points for 50 points. Still……., i have not read this anywhere. not in the rules, not in the errata`s is this official? or just a thing a random dude has said on some forum? also, Triumphs rules apply when you have less points in your list then your opponent? So then you role on the Triumph table? I couldn`t find this anywhere also is this official?
About the Triumphs I am not sure if they are used in matched plat, I have to check that. About Command Points: Yes, for every 50 unused points you can have an additional CP in the first round. Note that unused CPs carry over to the next round so you can hoard them and unleash them all at once. My Ironjawz opponent did that to me last Friday and it was awesome. Five Waaghs on one unit of 10 Brutes makes them smash everything that dares standing in their way.
For clarification you are not "buying" the CP. This is relevant when awarding the triumphs. You are awarded an additional CP for every 50 points you don't use. So the extra CP wont count towards your army points total when determining who gets the triumph.
Somewhere in the GHB2018 I think, or in the matched play section of the Core Book. I can look tonight when I am at home.
Taken from the Designers notes WARHAMMER AGE OF SIGMAR: CORE RULES & BASE SIZES https://www.warhammer-community.com/faqs/ Under pitched battles, pg 7 Q: In a Pitched Battle, I receive 1 extra command point for every 50 points I don’t spend on units. Do points spent on warscroll battalions, endless spells and terrain features count as points spent on units for the purposes of this rule? A: Yes.
Unless you really need that additional CP, i dont think it's worth 50 pts in small games. With 2000-2500 pts it can be an acceptable trade, as you will probably have 2-3 heroes that want to use their command ability at the same moment. It's a real pity that "automatic" CPs don't scale with the size of the battle...
