The progress on my super tank thus far. Got the ramp bit the other day and began to cover some gaps and holes with green stuff but also make some decorative fur placements hehe. However I'm still contemplating whether I should buy the Repulsor tank kit and use that tower ontop or skip having a tower overall. Been trying to find the bits for the tech marine but they are all out at the moment. Also waiting for an extra gatling cannon bit to swap out the second lascannon. I'm a sucker for gatling guns......

And some more Intercessors primed and ready.
This time I made up another unit, these are shield bearers that belong to the Reserve companies
and remain vigilant on their Chapter World. Roaming the plains with some local wildlife.

Some more progress on my super tank, you can never have enough gatling guns haha.
I was surprised by the size of the Repulsor tower, thought it was bigger but it worked out perfectly.

And some more WIP stuff, two more Intercessor squads and another squad of Inceptors.
I'm falling behind with my minis again.. Need to step up my paintjobs.. my Shield Bearers are still just primed.
Also a squad of Aggressors I'm gonna try something with, used the head shield/cover from the Inceptors kit.
Waiting for some 3rd party heavy weapon bits to arrive, hopefully they will work with the Aggressor armor.

My take on the Calgar model, will be my new Chapter Master :D But unsure if I can use him in a game since I dont run as Ultramarines but damn it was a fun model to kitbash. The honor guards were a bit tougher to convert, I had to file off plenty of "U"s and the shield was hard to file down so I ended up with making it as smooth as I could then I scrapped some "scars" with a knife so now it looks like battle damaged from fighting my Tyranids hehe.

My heavy flamer Aggressors and a Captain primed and ready as well. Turned out very well imo!

And finally I managed to prime the super tank conversion. It will be a pain to paint,
I thought the Land Raider was tough so this will be step it up.. But challenge accepted!

It's easier than you think, the amount of time you save is unbelievable, I base coated 5 Scenery projects this week that would have taken hours with a brush, 30 mins with the airbrush ;)

All I can say is you want dual action and gravity feed and the compressor is key, you can spend a small fortune on a decent compressor.

I just bought my first airbrush, an Iwata eclipse. It has changed my painting life. I wish I bought one earlier and I wish I had more time to paint! It's been really fun learning and the airbrush works great.

Be careful though, I first bought an Iwata eclipse airbrush bundle from Amazon and the air compressor that it came with was a piece of junk. I think they send me the wrong brand and it was broken. I had to send the whole thing back I bought things separately after that and it was about the same price and I got a much better air compressor.

I know some people go cheap for their first airbrush, but if you know how to clean it, and are careful with your tools, I think the eclipse is a good starter airbrush. I'm pretty sure if you are consistent with your cleaning it can last you years. Not sure if you are looking, but this is the compressor i bought after my failed bundle experience. It works great. I had it running for like 5 to 6 hours and it was champ. The chamber is pretty large and it isn't too loud when it fills.

The most important video for airbrush owners is this one:

This is by far the best airbrush video I've found and I watched over like 50 videos before I bought. The hardest part of learning airbrushing, in my opinion, is learning how to manage your paint and how to keep your airbrush clean. This video takes care of the second part :)

Sorry for the brain dump, I just recently went through all of this so I'm excited :)

Just looked up that airbrush and the air compressor.. Hot damn that's alot of money. I could buy three Baneblades for that or a forgeworld model haha. I will have to wait and see if I can put away money for that at some point.. Won't be next year since I'm saving up to return to the UK.. But I will keep an eye out for something cheap yet usable.

Anyhow, Chapter Master Ordin Mardun, First of his Chapter. Ready to protect mankind! Love the size of this model. Proper Space Marine feel!

Totally fair. It's definitely an investment, but like good investments, it pays off. Time saver, better painting, and saves money on paint/primer. It's a tough call going cheap vs not. IMO the cheap stuff won't last as long so you pay just as much because you will replace it sooner, but I totally get the cost thing. It took me a long time to pull the trigger :)

I’m positively ashamed sir - you were proving yourself to be such a promising cerebrate of the Hive Mind, not to mention exposing yourself to the abomination of 8th Edition!

Haha my Tyranids are still around and at some point I will get more models for that army, I lack some models I want to get.
Warriors, Haruspex, Carnifex, Tervigon, Tyrannofex and Rippers. So I'm not "done done" with my Tyranids I would say!

    Not a fan of 8th? :D
