Hello again! I'll be playing this thursday on a 2k vs flesh eater court, and because this is the greatest forums of them all I wanted to ask its generous members some advice on the list I'll get on the table. Also, while we're at it, I would like to know a way to support this forum? I am no rich man, but I don't know, I feel it has given me more than any youtuber or app. It amazes me every time how active and reactive members are here.
So, to the building! I really want to play Fangs of Sotek since, for the first time, I finally have 60 saurus warriors to present. So, with a 40/10/10 saurus battleline, I would cover 1400 points if I'm not wrong. So what to do with the other 600? That's what I've been wondering, so I wanted to try my luck and see if any of you has any ideas and the will help me out! Besides the FoS stuff, I have the following models:

    Astrolith Bearer (160)
    Oldblood on foot (120)
    Scar-vet on cold one (100)
    Skink priest (80)
    Skink starpriest (80)
    x20 Skinks (60 each unit of 10)
    x5 Saurus Knights (90)
    x5 Razordon (40 each)
    Bastiladon, solar engine (280)
    Troglodon (160)
    x3 Ripperdactyl riders (140)
    x3 Terradon riders (120)
    Quicksilver swords (20)

Also, if you really wanna become a stranger's heroes, some tips to play against flesh eaters will be very appreciated since I am still very noob. Actually, just some list tips are enough to become a hero to me, so anyways, thank you again for everything, have a great one!

So glad that you enjoy this community. This sites makes all my other armies jealous.

Based on what you own I would build FoS something like this:

    Allegiance: Seraphon
    - Mortal Realm: Ulgu

    LEADERS:
    Slann Starmaster
    (260)
    - General
    - Command Trait : Great Rememberer
    - Artefact : Miasmatic Blade

    Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur (260)
    - Artefact : Doppelganger Cloak
    Saurus Sunblood (120)
    - Artefact : Betrayer's Crown
    Skink Starpriest (80)
    Skink Priest (80)
    - Priestly Trappings

    UNITS:
    40 x Saurus Warriors (360)
    - Spears
    10 x Saurus Warriors (100)
    - Clubs
    10 x Saurus Warriors (100)
    - Clubs
    4 x Razordons (160)

    BEHEMOTHS:
    Bastiladon
    (280)

    BATTALIONS:
    Sunclaw Starhost
    (130)
    Fangs of Sotek (70)

    TOTAL: 2000/2000
    EXTRA COMMAND POINTS: 2
    WOUNDS: 114

Save your Doppelganger's Cloak to counter the Ghoulking's ability to multi-fight. Focus your Bastilladon's shots onto enemy behemoths and use LoSaT to move your Razordons about while targeting horde units. If possible kill any Abhorrent Arcregents before they use their once per game summon.

Awesome as always, wizard, a heroic figure without a doubt. Thanks for that list, it looks pretty swell! I've always wondered how does Doppelganger actually work though. If the enemy charges the carno, then tries attack, I tell him "nuh man" and he has nobody to attack, am I forced to attack him and then will he be able to hit me? Big thanks again!

The Cloak is a once use artifacts that is declared at the start of the combat phase. The bearer can not be targeted unless it has already attacked until the end of that phase. So, if an enemy is forced to declare an attack before the bearer than they lose their attacks for the turn.

Doppelganger's Cloak Interactions to Be Aware of:
    • If two actions happen at the start of a phase the person whose turn it is has their actions occur first.
    • Units that are in combat must be declared to attack even if they have no viable target.
    • Units who declare combat against the bearer of the DC cloak still get their pile-in movement even if they can't target the bearer with any attacks.

Perfect explanation! And isn't Dimensional Blade better for Sunblood instead of betrayer's crown? What do you think?

I tend to say yes, but I have seen people argue for "no, he gets to fight in the end". Not sure if that was clarified in a FAQ, I have to check that.

They are lost. The only time something gets to interact at the end of the combat phase is if it forced to by an ability that says it fights at the end. The end of phases only exist if a rule specifically references it.

When a command ability allows for a unit to fight again then it can be used before the end of the phase. It has to be one of the command ability that doesn't allow it to fight immediately after the previous time it fought though.

Essentially you always have to chose a unit in combat to fight. If your carno doesn't fight until the units it is combat with have already been forced to declare then they can't declare to fight again unless they have an ability that allows them to do so. The Ghoul King's ability specifically has to fight immediately after it fought. So his ability is no help here.

Betrayer's Crown is good for thinning hordes before they swing because it happens at the start of the combat phase and doesn't require an attack sequence to occur. More rend is always useful though.

I am the only noob regular in my local store. All the others know how to play and they have NEVER given me an easy time. I always got absolutely destroyed. They were as fair as they were merciless. This is why I am so proud to say that I was FINALLY able to secure my first victory!!! It was EPIC. Almost five hours of madness. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE HELP.
It was the battle plan in which you have 3 objectives, and first hero to get to 3" from it captures it. Every turn it gives you one VP, and every extra turn you hold it it gives you one more VP. Meaning, 1 point the first turn, 2 points the second turn, etc... The one with more VPs at 5th turn wins.
I was able to hold the three objectives first turn. The 3" movement boost from FoS was amazing since we were playing on a small table. I tried to teleport my sunblood to the one to the right, but I got a 1 so he was paralyzed. Both skinks were already in the middle so I had to secure it with my Slann. This is how it looked just before he charged me.

Then the massacre began. He got double turn.
His ghouls were all over the place. They were doing ridiculous amounts of damage. Luckily his dragon couldn't get to my carno on first turn thanks to positioning, but this would not last for long. Every ghoul I killed would then come back, his Terrorgheist would heal every wound I did to him and started destroying my bastiladon. Razordons put a good amount of wounds, but got beaten eventually. Once exposed, my Slann was killed as well and my oponent got the third objective with one of the zombie heroes that are not that strong since ghoul king was not in range. Ouch. Now it was up to the Saurus to secure the objectives. Carno started fighting with dragon but got lucky and didn't receive a lot of damage. My opponent ended his turn and got one point against my 3. I had to survive my battle round, no other way. The 40 saurus unit was REALLY putting up a fight, they didn't go down easily so the skink priest were still protected for now. I tried to teleport Sunblood again and got a two. Seriously... I somehow managed to survive that turn and made 4 other points.

He won initiative and kept killing everything with his ghouls. He also surrounded my carno with another of his heroes. I knew I wouldn't be able to play a fourth round. I just needed to survive his battle round... and I did!! Carno didn't get it cheap but he survived with 4 HP left. Oponent got 2 more VP, getting to 3. My turn. I teleport my sunblood with a 4, and he got a 10" charge!!! FINALLY. He destroyed the little zombie hero with Dimensional Blade -3 Rend and got the objective for himself. Carno ran away from battle and was able to get 3" away from enemy and still be 3" from the objective, so he didn't have to fight. This two things secured me another 7 points, getting me to 14 against his 3. This is how it looked at the end of turn three.

He then completely destroyed everything I had and made 3 points at turn four and 6 at turn five. I won 14 to 12. It was an amazing experience, thank you so much for helping me getting the list together and giving me tips on how to use it. It was a lot of fun <3

How da frig did you win?! That was awesome!! Reading the report I was worried that it would be another one sided FEC victory. But nope! You did an excellent job staying on top and holding objectives, very well done.

LMAO yes I didn't have time to do more than that before the match, I'm in the middle of moving to the south of France! The demented Slann is an awesome idea xD

I honestly don't know, I really got lucky in the right moments. Carno not dying to two battlerounds against the zombie dragon almost seemed like a divine intervention. 10" charge also surprised me. I suppose the trick is keep playing until you get that sweet statistically inevitable moment of luck.

Go ahead. I almost quit playing after my seventh crushing defeat because I got frustrated lol I whined a little, then remembered that playing uncompetitively with friends only to win is dumb haha and seeing all the miniatures on the table is too fun
