Some interest was shown in my models on my introduction post, so I thought I'd share a pile of stuff and come back and update it as and when. The photo's are in no particular order, apologies for any duff photos. More to follow...
Holy $%^@!!! @Warden is going to spontaneously combust (in a positive way) when he sees this thread. Awesome!
Thanks. Well he's only got himself to blame, posting all those Mayan goodies and encouraging folk to come and join the forum...
Wow really great stuff! You are really bringing the Mayan artwork to life! Looks like you are casting some of these after you are sculpting them? Really fantastic, I am especially loving the glyphs.
Thanks, all the Mayan sculpts are copied from real Mayan artifacts. I am indeed casting them and with the casts making larger pieces, although it's slow to make all the components it really helps speed up making larger objects.
At last a lot of this is not so much WIP as finished... tried to make it a variable piece rather than just one chunk. Hmmm I smell a KS coming on... lol
Fantastic work and great group photos! I really like all the little inspired details. And how it is modular. Well done!
Thanks chaps. It's modular in the loosest of ways, you can have a flat floor on top, or one with a calendar, or the temple on top, or the temple to one side and pieces like an altar and throne on top, or a sarcophagus on top, or the sarcophagus inside the temple, etc. Tried to build it with a lot of variety rather than one set piece. If you know a better term than modular I'd be delighted to hear it.
