Been working on my Slann Bearer and getting her holding back base ready. Cut apart two icons I had taken off my Thunderlizard and attached them to one of the carno thrones I wasnt using, and through some extra 3D bits on where the palanquin will rest. Quite pleased with it so far! Debating on if anything I should add to it, but will probably wait until I have a slann to put on top of it.

    Baby Thunderlizards Colors:

Anaddon Black, Rakarth Flesh, Khorne Red and nuln oil. Under everything are traces of blue and green left over from the previous color scheme which I feel helps it have a quite look.

Edit: Added a 50mm base on top to see how it looks, and I am pleased

Very Nice to have a Slann bearer!
I like the big circlely plate.(good use of the Carnosaur throne ;))

I'd like to see some chain or leather straps to hold the throne in place.

Are you planning on putting the Slann on his usual floating throne on top of this? or just him?

In comparison: the Great Thunderlizard could carry a whole Temple

Keep up the good work :)

    Gr, Imrahil

PS: your kitbashing rate reminds me to pick up my projects soon

Thank you! I have as I mentioned been trying to figure out what to do with the little one and then it just struck me, why not have a slann ride on her? So I did lol

As for the platform in top of her, ots actually a 50mm round base that came with my mierce miniature Salamanders :) I figured 50mm was what the slann is on and nust wanted to see how it'd look.

Edit: Misread this! Yes, the throne! Lol I'm so sorry lol yeah! I was super stoked when it fit PERFECTLY on her back, like a perfect fit without any real adjustment

Chains and such are coming, this is just a mock up to see how it would even look. Now that I approve of it I will certainly be adding chain and such, I have like 10ft worth of necklace gold chain lol will probably do a single chain this time, due to the size of the animal.

As for the Slann, I was planning to have the palanquin rest ontop of the blue pieces like the base is now. Obviously that might change once I get a slann, but as of now in my minds eye that's how I'm seeing it.

Tlanextic could indeed carry a whole Temple on her! Which one is the question...?

Thank you! It's a joy to share with you and everyone else, atm one of the few joys in life. An upswing in life is coming though, I can feel it! New Year, New Beginnings!

I look forward to your projects! Anything planned yet? I'm trying to finish some older stuff first, but knowing me....lol

Seeing as a Sunblood does have a shield I decided to use the extra Oldblood to see how it would it look...and surprisingly it looks quite natural! Undecided if I will keep it but I like the idea of Sunbloods not all being a generic looking saurus with the same shield, etc. I feel Sunbloods from different Cohorts would possibly be armored slightly differently, I mean there are sub factions of Slann working for and against one another after all.

Thinking of trying freehand a symbol on his back flags as well, we shall see!

I'm especially excited about the Coatl/Moon Serpent project.

If you havnt read the fluff section, please do! I'd love some feed back on it

Thanks man! I love kitbashing lol something soothing about finding the right fit of pieces that dont normally go together...something about it.

As for the Sunblood there (obviously this may change) but I think I want to use Feridian Grey for the underbelly and possibly Dark Reaper or another darker Blue for the scales dry brushed with maybe skink blue and then washed with Drakenhoof. That's what I'm thinking as of now, I always prime in grey.

I want to use Feridian Grey more than before when doing my "Moon Prophet" as it is really a lovely color, so I want to implement that.

So, I've made some progress on my Oracle/Moon Prophet and I'm pretty happy with where he is. I ended up putting Nuln oil over most of the model, however I made the mistake of putting it all over the blade and not just the middle part, thus darkening it too much. To correct this, after talking to @NIGHTBRINGER , I decided to go the Star Blade route and I am fairly happy with how it came out. I will need to repaint a few areas as specks of white got over his black scales.

Or do I keep them as "Star Specks"?

I started this Scar Vet on foot as an experiment to what I kinda of imagine the moon would look like if its energy was transferred to a Seraphon/lizardmen. What colors, how would scales be highlighted, etc. I think given the small model scale that I've captured that pretty well thus far.

Colors used so far: Primes White, Feridian grey, Nuln oil, a Lilac Purple mix, and pallid wytch flesh

I started by Priming the model white ad I originally had thought about using contrast but decided to go the route shown. Using the Feridian Grey for the bottom I then began to use the Nuln oil to darken the crevices between the scales and dying them a bit darker, giving them a dark silvery color. Using Pallid Wytch Flesh I highlighted random/not random scales in the shape of crescent moons (when possible), and with the Lilac Purple I did light shades and built it up again in the shape of a crescent moon. I then did another shade of Nuln oil all over the back scales and tail, avoiding the Feridian grey underbelly.

I'm pretty happy so far! Going to leave it at this stage for the night and look at it with fresh eyes in the morning.

I would love some input, what do you think? C&C :)

Hey everyone :) I apologize that I havnt been around these past 6 days, going through some stuff so I've slowed down my hobbying in all forms or stopping all together for the time being. I'm still remaining active in the RPG (You should go check it out if you havnt, great content and a great story unfolding lead by @Nazqua who is doing a stellar job - http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/lizardmen-rpg.23902/) but as for painting and story writing...well picking up a brush, or making a keystroke (for stories) hasnt happened for over a week now.

Although i havnt been painting I wanted to give some updates to a few things that I had done prior to my hiatus:

My Saurus Scar Vet on Foot:
    20200110_195729.jpg 20200110_195716.jpg 20200110_200258.jpg

My Thunderlizard base from my 3D guy came in!:
    20200116_000126.jpg

I also attached more photos to the Thunderlizard section in my intro area so everyone can see the very bare model all the way up to it's current state :)

My Coatl print arrived a few days ago that will be used for my Moon Serpent:

Hope you all are doing well, I hope to be back in the swing of things by early Feb :)

That coatl model is sweet, as are so many of your other efforts in this thread. Take care of yourself and we'll all be here when you're able to resume your project efforts.

Well, I have a Job interview tomorrow after being unemployed for 6 months due to medical stuff, and I'm nervous and excited! So to reward myself I decided to pick up the brush and work on my Scar Vet on Foot!

Worked on some armor with the silver, using the lilac color I made on the shoulders and using Aethmatic Blue to make "Crystals" on top of the shoulder armor. On his weapon I painted the orb area silver and dyed it with Aethmatic Blue and the gem in the feather with Vul. Pink contrast, the feather itself is screamer pink highlighted with troll slayer orange. Still need put some washes down

I really love how shades and Contrasts look over silver specifically.

I got the job! After I get back from California they will he calling me to make sure I am still interested! So, that's awesome! The GM seemed very excited to have me come on board and said that she doesnt doubt I'll advance quickly given my background

So here is an update on my first Moon Warrior. My Scar Vet on Foot (will double as an Alpha for my warriors). I'm going to do the base with a resin pour to make him apart of the Highland Delta theme I'd like to continue

    C&C always welcome!

Looking great love the paint scheme, original and quite different for sure!!

The only things that looks weird to me is the brown weapon handle.... looks out of place with all the other colour, been in the white to purple range... perhaps a screamer pink or equivalent would make it match more or perhaps that red/purple colour on the oracle weapon?!

Oh and congrats on the new job!!
