Hi everyone, I have just started an army and I have finally managed to pick a paint scheme. I am going for a swamp theme for my army so green seemed natural. Since I have gotten much inspiration from the many excellent armies on here I thought it only fair that I share my own efforts. Comments are much appreciated
Re: Painting schemes for my new Lizzie army those are really nice great start, I really really like what you did with the skinks eye with the all black i may have to steal that idea heh
Re: Painting schemes for my new Lizzie army I like your colour scheme mate, and your painting is very neat. Only quibble that i have is that the saurus' teeth look a little too clean The skink is awesome by the way!
Re: Painting schemes for my new Lizzie army Very cool, and yeah good idea with the skink eyes! Really like the texture and blending on the skink skin, good work.
Re: Painting schemes for my new Lizzie army Thanks everyone, now I just have to paint about 50 of the buggers! Those mouldlines on the Skinks are going to be the death of me, I just noticed some I had missed in the picture
Re: Painting schemes for my new Lizzie army While I am not a green Lizzie kind of guy, I like what you've done. Only things I would suggest is a wash on the yellow scales and using the shield to pull in some contrast. Maybe an orange or red. Good work!
Re: Painting schemes for my new Lizzie army looks pretty darn awesome, for how long have you been painting miniatures, it looks like you've got some experience.
Re: Painting schemes for my new Lizzie army Wow Great color scheme. My only sugestion is to use a little wash on the white bits, it's realy easy and it smooths and shades in one step, black or brown would work, but so would sepia. Keep on painting man, I can't wait to see what your other units look like.
Re: Painting schemes for my new Lizzie army Nice colour scheme! Should look great when all you're lizzies are set up together on the table top.
Re: Painting schemes for my new Lizzie army Hi again guys and thanks for the replies. I have actually used washes on the white bits, both devlan mud and sepia. But the teeth quickly blends into the skin so I have to use only the smallest amount. I think some orange on the shields could look very nice, I think I will try it out. Any paint suggestion? I have managed to a little more work, but progress is painfully slow. Here's some more Saurus, the one in the middle can double as a champ. Some more Skinks My Engine of the gods, slightly converted for more ritual sacrificial action These fellows are the start of my Chameleon skinks. And finally this my test for the scheme for my Cold ones. I think it worked out pretty well, the difference between the scales and the skin is slightly bigger in real life. Hope you like'em!
Re: Painting schemes for my new Lizzie army Nice, I'm liking the army so far I can't wait to see what your custom chameleon skinks look like!
Re: Painting schemes for my new Lizzie army One thing that could be cool is making frogs of gs for the chameleons, you know the frogs wich they get their poison from.
Nice scheme, quiete original, but there is one thing that bugs me with the saurus. The legs. They are green, just as the scale, and not "white" as the the rest of the skin (Belly, arms, head etc). But it's still a good painting job you've done
Re: My Lizzie army. Resurrected on the 29 okt 2011 Hi again. I know it's been a long while since the lat post but I wanted to share more pictures of my growing army. Finished steg with engine: Finished "Nightstalker skinks" (Chameleon skinks): And the whole unit: Almost finished unit of 30 Saurus with spears Finished unit of skirmisher skinks Scnhappi, an ancient steg: More pictures in the next post.
Moar piccies! An Oldblood/Scar vet Oldblood on Carnosaur WIP My Slaan My Kroxigor: And I was very inspired by the the awesome Savage Orc conversions, so I am in the process of making Temple guard in this way: This is the tester: The scales take forever to make, if anyone has tips on doing this faster I would be very happy if you could advise me. Here is the very WIP unit: And a Oldblood/Scar vet made in the same "style": Hope you enjoy the pic's, comments are as usual very welcome
Haha, not just me that got inspired by the savage orc/lizzies. The army looks great, I especially like the kroxigor and you slann, and the enging of gods is really nice. I'm not so sure about the croc-steggie though. To me it looks to much like a toy with warhammer parts glued on, but that's just me. Hope to see more pics in the future!
