Just rediscovering Warhammer Fantasy and my old 4000pts Lizardmen army, and have decided to go over my rubbish old painting, so am trying to find a new colour scheme. Whilst experimenting, I painted Fortress Grey, then washed Asurmen Blue. The scales are Hawk Turquoise. Which style do you like better? What colour should the shield be? Any other comments? Constructive Criticism wanted.

The rest of the miniature is still completely unpainted and WIP.

How about making the top one, but painting a line of scales on the sides aswell (ending up with 3 blue lines). Just throwing some ideas out. But out of the two you posted, I'd say the bottom one.

I would say bottom one, and I think grey skin would look great with it, because at first look i thought: good scheme the grey looks good with the scales, adn then I realized that the skin wasn't even painted!!

The skin is painted, I know it looks a bit like it hasn't been, but I'm hoping that after all the extra detail has been added then it won't look too bad.

Geez I'm getting confused, I first thought the skin was painted then saw in your post "the rest of the model is completely unpainted", and because you only said something about the scales I thought "oh the skin isn't painted",but it now you say it is, now that's confusing, but it looks good.

Yeah, sorry, just to clear up - The only areas that are painted are the skin and scales, nothing else. The skin is Fortress Grey, washed with Asurmen Blue, the scales are Hawk Turquoise.

    Sorry for any confusion.

Almost finished a unit of 15 of these guys, any suggestions as to the shield colour? I wanted to lay it out a bit like GW have - Blue for skin and scales, Red for Monsters and Saurus shields, Green for Skink shields, Terradons and Cold Ones.

Mine is grey and turquoise for skin and scales, ______ for Monsters and Saurus shields, ______ for Skink shields, Terradons and Cold Ones.

    Any ideas?

You've got the exact same paint scheme as me, apart from ive painted the metal parts silver and given them green eyes and purple tongues.

I paint my shiled dark red which conmtrasts nicely with the rest of the scheme.

I'll post some pictures later of the completed paint scheme with a badab black wash, dont do much more to my troops after that because it would take a life time to complete and army & it looks good for table top standard.

Yea I have been messing with photo editors for about 20 years,
so this was just a quick and dirty edit...

Let me know if you want to see some other colors. ;)

Thanks for all the help, I'll be sure to post pictures of the completed unit with whatever shield colour I choose to use.
