    Hey there,

I recently attained a copy of the Lustria book and noticed the EoG in it was totally different from the one we have nowadays. I loved the fact it looked like a device, I was just wondering if anyone has any clues on how to go by and create such a thing? By this I mean the spinning dynamo no the beast itself.

I've seen conversion of it on this site but not certain who made it. Thank you in advance :)

There was a previous thread about it, but not too much on what oyu could use to make it... Definitely a tough model to convert, but very very cool. Old thread is here if interested.

Maybe the rings are made of slices of different sized plastic (or other material) tubes covered on one side with putty for the markings, and pinned together with tiny rods.

I am working on device-like engine myself:

I am using different plastic pieces of different things... The outer rim for example is made from that cellotape ring... But of course you can use putty...

    that's pretty awesome :jawdrop:
Do you keep those pins unglued (are they just broad enough to keep themselves in place), or how do you do it, keeping those rings moveable?

Partially magnets (the whole device thing is removable from the original GW half-ring). And the two rings are joined by pins, as you said. They are glued to the inner rim, but unglued to the outer and they fits the holes.

Thank you to every one of you! This is such a helpful forum :) Especially Lazoxoatl who I see is the one who actually inspired me to attempt it myself. I love the fact it's magnetic.

    Again thank you all :)

Slanny tranny: Well, unfortunatelly I can't work on the EotG until July, 'cause I am studying in Sweden and I didn't brought it with me (but I brought some smaller models though :) so hopefully at least any progress would be noticed ;) ).

Purple Skink: I am really happy to inspire you ;) I hope I will see your version soon ;)

No, It's not glued.. But it fits like "click-clack", so no problem putting it on and then off :)
