Lustria Online August Painting Challenge Vote Thread!

Here it is! The voting thread for the August unit painting challenge. I specified a maximum of 2 photos, so for those that sent more I picked what I thought were the best two. I have also limited the size of the photos since they need to sit side by side, this has made some fairly small. But I think the size I chose allows all the models to be seen reasonably well and doesn't stretch the page too much.

Finally, you are allowed a maximum of 2 votes. I decided to give people two votes to help with competition, so pick your top two, or you can choose to just vote for one if you want.

Any member can vote, especially those that didn't enter, so come and get your votes in! I have left the poll open for 2 weeks, but we will probably conclude it in a week unless it is really close.

Yeah I know. At best I have managed to narrow my choices down to 6 so far, they are indeed all very good!

 

Wow! Good work everyone. I'm impressed by a lot of those entries. I'm particularly impressed by the Savage Orcs, given BloodyBeast only entered 5 days before the end of the competition! I've painted a few Savage Orcs and it still takes me around 3 days to hurriedly paint 10 of them and they dont come out looking nearly that good! Good job with them.

Its a tough call as to where to put the votes.

 

Wow congratulations to everyone who participated!!! I'm really glad I came up with this idea, to be able to witness such beautiful models painted by our members is really such a treat!!!

Voting was really hard as the quality of the units in this challenge is very high. Whoever ends up winning will get insanely high bragging rights .

Thanks Strewart for taking all this time to work out this challenge, I can appreciate what you did! Let's keep making this forum a very active place where competitions like this are run on a regular basis .

 

agreed, very well painted all around. just sad i didn't realise we were running a competition . next time, next time. cant wait to see who takes 1st!

I reckon the Ghouls look pretty good, its hard to pick who to vote for because they're all really good in their own individual way. I'd love to see a close up of the brown and red Ghouls. You coulda taken some better pictures to highlight the good paint job you have on them too

I was looking forward to seeing your spider riders How are they going so far? I'm surprised mine came out so well and have gotten a few votes given they were painted with mostly speed painting techniques (though admitedly they took me longer than most my speed painted models, the techniques were the same, white undercoat, thin first coat of colour, some detailing and a few washes).

 

Pity vote? Hardly - they're awesome! Got my goblins done and am pretty happy with them, but the spiders really disappointed me. Plus I couldn't sit still long enough to get anything done anyway I'll get a photo of what I've done so far and put it on the original thread.

 

so... who won? and what happened to the prizes? xD

 

Well the poll doesn't close until tuesday, but at the moment the saurus unit converted from orcs (number 3) is clearly winning.

I have emailed Mantic about this thread specifically asking how we should gather the winner's details, but I have had no reply yet. I will email them again on Monday if I haven't heard from them. Its definitely still happening though!
