So here are the rules for the next painting challenge, take the time to read the fine prints this time around :D.

    Concept:
Each contestant will enter a fully painted/based single character in the contest.

    Rules:
    1) Each participant will send a picture of the unpainted miniature at the beginning of the contest to me. It can be primed. Send the pictures to sebast_b_m@hotmail.com
    2) The character you are painting can be on foot (up to 50mm base size) or mounted (maximum legal 25x50mm base size). Sorry, no big monsters in September/October, I'm keeping that for November/December
    3) Pictures of the painted unit must be sent to me before October 12. Voting will open on the 13th and will last a week. At the end of the painting period, whoever has the most vote wins!

If you have any questions/concerns, please either PM me or reply to this thread. Also, can we get a sticky please mods :D.

Looking through my models (that need a pain job), I have a question:

    1. Is a Hunter model (without the sabertusks) eligible? The reason that I ask is that it came with a 50x50 base. Which I mounted it on. I would think that it would not be allowed, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I edited the rules for the contest, you should now be able to participate with your hunter and we should be able to paint slaans as well.

I assume this means a 25x50 mm standard cavalry base, right?

Hmm very tempting to do my Slann now instead... Though his palanquin is already started so probably ineligible. I'll stick with an elven battle standard I think.

Should be fun! Good luck everyone.

Edit: Oh yeah, and I guess it is my job to sticky the thread. Done!

just to be a pain, is it just WFB single chars or are 40K acceptable as well? (i don't know what the comparable base size would be though)
and is there a start date or just start whenever you send the pics in?

Looks like its started now since the closing date is only a month or so away..

40k models do have equivelant base sizes. Most of the troops go on 25mm round, terminators go on 40mm round. Whether they are allowed or not, up to SeBM..

Of course 40k models are allowed, as long as it is a similar base size. I understand 40k uses round bases but I'm all for it. As a matter of fact, in the 1st challenge we made here, we had a really nice space marine entry so no problem :D!!!

Do you guys think 1 month and a week is too short??? I could easily change the ending date to allow more time for people to join in the fun :D.

Would the Skragg the slaughterer model be eligible for this contest? It is on a chariot base (50x100mm Monster Base).

Have I mentioned that I have the entire Ogre army to paint (except 3 test models)? About 3000 points without any gnoblars and none of the new stuff.

Gah!!! I now can't decide on what I want to paint. lol. I've got it narrowed down to these:

Ogre Standard Bearer, Slann, Dwarf Rune Priest, and what I think are older models of Tichi Huichi on Cold One and a skink chief (not sure if that is what those models are.. just happen to find them in a box?

Also, would the orc chariot be allowed as it's on it's original base.. which is boars and wheels? If not, then please disregard that one. :D

No, don't change it! 5 weeks is MORE than enough time to paint 1 model and (IMO) if somebody can't do that then they don't need to be in the challenge. Also... remember that it is indeed a CHALLENGE, which means it should add some pressure. So I think the given time is good. Just my 2 coppers though...

Cool, just wanted to make sure before I started. It'll be either Skulltaker or a Broodlord. (40mm bases i believe)

@ Arli : Sorry, can't always make exceptions, so no such bases. Trying to avoid getting enormous models in this contest to keep the models comparable.

    @ Lord Cedric : No chariot :p.

@ Iggy Koopa : I wasn't planning to change the timeline unless I received a unanimous response from the participants.

Start sending me pictures when you guys are ready!!!
