My LGW is doing a tournament for one on one combats with one character each. The limit is 300 points. Here are a few oldblood ideas that I came up with but I'd like to hear what you think would work:

(All Characters have Cold One, Shield/Light Armour and Great Weapon in case of a Runeshield or something which breaks magic items)

    Soul-Sucker Oldblood
Blade of Realities, Gambler's Armour, Potion of Speed, Shield, GW, Cold One

    Ninja Oldblood
Sword of the Hornet, Enchanted Shield, Talisman of Protection, Potion of Strength, Light Armour, GW, Cold One

    Tricky Oldblood
Burning Blade of Chotec, Trickster's Helm, Other Trickster's Shard, Opal Amulet, Shield, GW, Cold One

    One-Hit-Wonder Oldblood
Piranah Blade, Armour of Destiny, Bane Head, Shield, GW, Cold One

I like to go with the armor of destiny, dawnstone, the +1 to hit sword, shield and a coldone.

All that should end up with a 1+ re-rollable armor save, 4+ ward save, and hitting most things on a 3+. You are still str 5 with a bunch of attacks.

This build has held up very well for me against every lord level character I've fought. The only thing it has trouble with is the skaven warlord with the fell blade and the dark elf lord with the 2+ and reverse ward, but everything has trouble with those.

I took a sideways look at this challenge:

Cold one, glittering scales, fencer's blades, dawnstone and bane head.

Good points: 6 attacks at WS10 doing double damage and a re-rollable 1+ AS.

Bad points: No ward! Doesn't ignore armour and only Str 5 so only -2 to AS.

The interesting thing about this is that the comiation of WS 10 as -1 to enemy attacks mean that you will generally be hitting on 3+ with your enemy hitting on 5+. Can this build survive long enought to sneak a double damage hit past your opponent.

Although it will probably be disallowed and your enemy will probably have a magic weapon, why not go for an ethereal slann and try to kill the enemy with magic before the combat round, just for a laugh.

    i played this build today
    Oldblood w/

    -piranha blade
    -armour of destiny
    -bane head

every fight you are in when you deal a wound they take four plus you have a 2+ armour save and a 4+ ward.
