Hello everyone. Perusing the Bret's Round Table forums, Bachtere posted some of his painting works from this past summer. One of them is a steg. And I must say.. I don't recall seeing it painted quite like this before. More yellow than a gold/metal look.. but it actually looks pretty good imo. But the one thing that has really taken me back is his painting of the skinks on the howda. I've never seen a color combo like that.. at least for the main body. Makes me wonder what the rest of his army looks in comparison - especially saurus. Looking at this and other of his pics.. he really is a good painter. I just wanted to share this with the rest of the Lustrian forum. Link: http://www.roundtable-bretonnia.org...eboard&Itemid=87&func=view&id=107090&catid=18 - Lord Cedric
Yeah that is a pretty spectacular stegadon alright! I really like the necrosphynx in that thread too.
A bit too colorful for my eye, but the other models blew me away. He has a nice style - good use of bright, almost florescent colors on otherwise monochrome pallet. Very striking. Started airbrushing my steg model yesterday...will post photos eventually. Seems an animal like this would probably have an earth tone color scheme, much like a rhinoceros. You're big, you live on the plains eating grasses...not much point in camouflage (unless you are a calf) as you can't really hope to hide yourself. But you live in a pack and if a predator comes around you and the others make a circle with those giant head bone shields...and woe be to any predator who tries to charge against that phalanx of horns!
But according to the Army Book Stegadons eat flesh to I don´t think they stalk there prey though, they mostly trample the poor little critter and eat whats left
