I never made a conversion before, though I did some minor kitbashed some parts mixing and matching parts from old Saurus and new Saurus. A part of me wants to start with something simpler, but there really isn't anything else I want conversion wise besides maybe Tetteko. I suppose I have the simpler plan on the table of putting Tehehaun on an ancient stegadon but I don't see what I need to do there besides stick Tehenhaun and his attendant on the steggy instead of the base. For raw materials I currently have six Stegadons. Three of the old version (two are which are partially assembled, I just need to attach the howdahs and the crew once I finish painting them. The third is still in box. The three newer Stegadons are all in their box. I have the current plan to use the older Stegadon models as regular Stegadons, and the other three to represent Ancient Stegadons. One of these will have Tehahaun with an Engine of the Gods (which will be fielded as a regular priest with EotG most of the time). One of these will be an ordinary Ancient Stegadon, and one of these will be Mazdamundi's stegadon. I have two sources of Slann material. I have the old Slann with the Temple Guard carriers and the new Slann model. My old Slann was partially assembled, I put the throne together and put the scepter on the Slann but I never attached the temple guard. Years ago before I suspended my Warhammer hobby I had started painting the Slann and his chair. I'm not particularly attached to that paint job so if I have to start over, no biggie. My new Slann is still in the box. Since I'm not particularly attached to my older Stegadon still in the box, I can use it instead to make Mazdamundi or gut the box for bits. Which Slann (old or new) makes a better base to make Kroak from? Which Howdah is better? What have other people used to make the Cobra Mace? The Sun Standard? What other models should I pull bits from? Is there some gallery here with Maz in it (besides the guy who won the Golden Demon 2009 in France who I couldn't hold a candle to)
Ben Koments used for his Lord Mazdamundi the Slann that was once created by Forge World. I like that Slann a lot, as his right arm is placed on his knee. But I fear there will not be any on ebay and if, they will be very expensive. If you go with the latest Slann modell, you could remove one of the arms and modell one that stands off and will hold the staff.
here is mine http://www.lustria-online.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6310&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=10 the first step for me was a dremel repositioning (i.e. removing) the arms was the trickiest part. not much too it besides that. the howda might get some more pieces added to it since i have a spare palaquin lying around, but ive got a lot to do as is.
