    Hey lizards.

So I am working on assembling a bunch of models that my wonderful wife purchased for me. (yay!) I am currently assembling some Cold Ones and I am trying to make one a little unique. I plan on having this be the mount for a Scar-Vet or Old Blood with a halberd.

I am a concerned that the head of the model is coming out a little, well, lame. I don't know if it's the head I am using or the extras I am adding. I am trying to stay away from using the default "champion" Cold One head. I plan on adding some green stuff to fix it up a little, but I want to decide on a final design first.

The head is from a Blood Bowl Kroxigor. I am using the new temple guard kit to spice it up a little.

Anyway, tell me what you think if you feel so inclined. More stuff? Less stuff? Different stuff? Give it a metal mohawk? (might actually look cool with a mohawk...)

    Thanks for the input!

EDIT: I changed the links to be from photobucket rather than my email. Not sure if it makes a difference.

Looks good. Quite small pics though so it's kinda hard to tell.

I think that what you feel looks "lame" is really not anything you did wrong. I've always thought (IMO) that our Cold Ones are probably the worst looking models in our army, they're just too cartoonish, so making them look good is a challenge in of it self. On your 3rd and 4th picture you can really see that the head is proportionate to the body so I feel it fits very well. I like the idea of the headgear you've built so far, I would suggest you use some green stuff and maybe a bit more extra bits to show how it stays on the head/neck rather than sticking straight out of the head (I'm sure you probably thought of it already and it's just a work in progress). Over all I think you're doing a very good job and you might just be the one who makes a CO look good!! Remember, it's a world of difference once it's painted.

P.S.: I agree a mohawk would look totally awesome!!

Our cold ones are super ugly. The talons looks so weird! I find that even the dreaded 6ed godizilla ones are much better. Why can't we get the same nice ones that dark elfs got?

Maybe in a couple of years we will.... :(

Meanwhile we can use plastic dinos from other manafacturers.

Yah, the pictures are a little small. I think I copied the link to the thumbnails or something. I'm not too savvy with photobucket yet...

Thanks for the encouragement. I agree that it needs some green stuff around the neck area. And yes, our COs look cartoonish to say the least.

I think I'm going to get rid of the spiky iron halo look on it though. Maybe more bone spikes to stay with the skull helmet theme.

Lol, don't worry. I am thinking I can do the mohawk with other bitz. I'll put up a picture of it when I get a chance to try it out, probably later tonight.

Modifying toys is a good idea. I'm going to look into that.
