I don't find them remotely interesting to play, but the sooner these guys come out, the sooner other books can come out. Also, they seem to need some balancing as they are a little overly powerful now.

I hope the next one out is Dwarfs, but rumors seem to put High Elves, Lizardmen or Demons as the next in line.

I'm not really concerned what order things come out, I just want them to come out quickly.

Agreed, not too interested in playing them, but I have to admit they are some nice looking models. I especially like that the chariot can also be used to make a Lord on foot. Slaughterbrute looks extra expensive for the wallet...

Sooner these guys come out the sooner another army gets updated. With The Empire being the only updated "good" army, I'm hoping we'll see us coming up soon.

I actually have about 2000 points of WoC. I would like to play them, but I do not see it happening any time soon. However, I cannot see paying $85 bucks for the monstrous beast thing.

I do not want to derail this thread, but I do not know what GW is thinking with that sort of price increase. It has me questioning my choice of hobby.

I hadn't even looked at the new models since you mentioned it. That is quite steep. I like the vortex beast. Cthulu-esque. That's how I'd want my demons to look if I collected them. The other version of the giant $85 monster just looks like another generic Khorne creature.

I think the prices there are the advanced order prices, I do believe they will go down. The Hobbit set was $300 on advanced order then dropped to $150 for regular order (Canadian prices btw)

What do y'all think about the new Dragon Ogres? I like them much better than the old ones or the Shaggoth. I also like that they have different weapon options now. Hopefully that trend will hold true for any new Lizardmen models...

I don't really like the concept of a combined mammal/reptile however. I'm also not a fan of the fact that Scyla and the Slaughterbrute have similar poses, though they are very nice models.

Interesting. The slaughterbrute is AUD$96, compared to USD$85. Usually the difference is much, much greater than that.

I am really excited about this launch! I have already pre-ordered the Army Book and Magic Lore cards (though the book I got from an online vender through Ebay.... MUCH cheaper!). I'm now looking at getting a couple chariots, Forsaken, and Dragon Ogres for certain. I'll probably end up getting Throgg and the Chaos Lord at some point too.

I'm on the fence though, with that Slaughterbeast/Vortex monstrosity. I'll need to see the stats on that thing before I think about adding it to my lists. Though, as a model it looks relatively alright, though not sure I like the stretched-out arm pose.

Wow! That is quite the collection. I think I could fill your shelves there, but that is about it. I wish I had the room to set mine up like that. Mine stays out of site, out of mind for the most part. It is hard to work on stuff because I do not see it daily.

We should change this into a Lord Cedric Admiration Thread! Just kidding... But that is one impressive collection. Although I must point out that not many of them are painted. I could never arrange mine that way, my cat would have a field day!

Right, the WoC! Plastik Krak here lists some rumours that have been circling:

I don't know how many of them are confirmed, but apparently they seem quite solid. It seems "balancing" is the word of the new book, which, at least I think, was much needed. So not that many incredible Ward saves, no more Puppet (at least for some opponents, this is a huge deal) and most importantly, the Gateway is no longer the insane "kill whole unit" spell.

As a side note, I personally think that the tentacled monstrosity is really cool while the Forsaken are totally hideous.
