Hi, Im participating in a 1.000 points tournament in a two weeks. I made 3 lists and can't decide which one to use. Any help or pro's / con's are welcome! Each list has the same following units: - Slann starmaster - 2x 10 Skinks (star bucklers with blowpipes) - 3 Ripperdactyl Riders The 3 lists differ in the following: List 1: Summoning Focus on summoning stuff and shutting down opponents synergies. - Astrolith bearer - Skink starpriest - 5 Chameleon skinks - 5 Chameleon skinks List 2: Utility A little bit of everything. Chamelons and rippers to deal with enemy characters. The Chronomatic cogs to boost my summoning or movement. Bastilidon as a firebase/distraction - 5 Chameleon skinks - Bastilladon - Chronomatic cogs - Quicksilver swords (got 20 points left) List 3: Rip away Just something that came up, If I have 3 Rippers in my army and can summon 1 unit each turn, that sounds nice. Ravenak's is just there because it felt fluffy - Astrolith bearer - 3 Ripperdactyl Riders - 3 Ripperdactyl Riders - Ravenak's Gnashing Jaws
Shadowstrike Starhost is one of the most brutal 1000 MPP list. If you want to win and you want to play Seraphon then it probably should be at the top of your considerations.
Shadow at 1k is true terror. If you like your games fast and your friends running away from you it is ok!
If I were you, I would go for the shadow strike starhost - 2 x 10 skinks - 1 Slann Starmaster - 1 Starpriest - 3 Rippers or - 6 Rippers - 1 Razordon or - 2 Razordons - 1 Astro Bearer Left = 980 pts Right = 1000 pts
Tonight I'm having a practice matach against Stormcast and later on Gobbo spiders. I'm going to try out the next list: lann Starmaster (260) - General - Command Trait : Arcane Might - Artefact : Incandescent Rectrices Skink Starpriest (80) - Artefact : Prism of Amyntok UNITS 3 x Ripperdactyl Riders (140) 10 x Skinks (60) - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (60) - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers 3 x Ripperdactyl Riders (140) BATTALIONS Shadowstrike Starhost (180) ENDLESS SPELLS Chronomantic Cogs (60) Quicksilver Swords (20) Only thing to still decide on is if I want to make IT 1 big ripper unit of two loose ones. I Will let you know the results!
You should combine the rippers for the battalion benefit. Also, a quarter of your army is spent on non-unit points. You might consider slimming down the endless spells.
Back to the drawing board at 1000 point the battalion is too much points indeed LizardWizard I killed the Spider Goblin boss with the deepstrike (but should have targeted the spider goblins). Next turn the Rippers were killed. I also made a tactical error with my Slann by trying to cast spells in turn 2 (should have used the summoning stuff). But also had some bad luck on casting rolls while my opponent his saves were nice. Enough learned, next tryout is the Rip away list...
