8th Ed. 1000 points training game against HE

    So, I played a "training game" against my brother using my high elves as his force, to test out my 1000 point army lists for a couple of games next week

    Lizardmen
    Oldblood on foot
    Gw
    Armour of destiny
    Ruby ring of ruin

    Skink priest
    Level 2 heavens
    Urannon's thunderbolt
    Iceshard blizzard
    Scroll of shielding

    Skink priest
    Level 2 beasts
    Wyssan's wildform
    Transformation of Kadon
    Cloak of feathers

    15 saurus warriors
    Full Command
    Hand weapons

    10 skink skirmishers

    Deployment:
    We played Battle for the Pass, and my deploymemt was;
    Skirmishers Saurus Stegadon
    Beasts priest

    His deployment:
    Dragon Princes Lothern sea Guard Swordmasters Archers
    RBT
    Turn 1 LM:
    Saurus march, skirmishers march, stegadon marches
    Magic roll of 3-1, everything dispelled
    No shooting
    No combat

    Turn 1 HE:
    Swordmasters march, Archers move up, Dragon Princes march, RBT stays where it is
    Magic roll of 6-3, everything dispelled
    Archers shoot at skinks, kill 2, LSG shoot at saurus, kill 2, RBT kills another Saurus
    No combat

    Turn 2 LM:
    Steg charges Dragon Princes in flank and makes it, Saurus move up, Skinks move closer to Swordmasters
    Same magic roll, everything dispelled again
    Skinks throw javelins at Swordmasters, take one out thanks to poison and get the another one regularly
    Dragon Princes attack first and land a wound on the Stegadon, who then attacks back and removes two of their number. Dragon Princes stay and reform to have 3 in b2b with the Stegain

    Turn 2 HE:
    Archers stay, RBT stays, LSG charges Saurus and gets into combat, Swordmasters charge Skinks, who flee
    Magic roll of 2-1, nothing cast
    Archers shoot Skinks, taking anither 1 away
    Dragon Princes attack, landing another wound, Stegadon retaliates but fails to wound, LSG peel off 2 saurus, amd they attck back and wound 4, winming combat. LSG hold.

    Turn 3 LM:
    Skinks rally
    Magic roll of 6-1, both Skink Priests channel to give 6-9, amd only spell to be cast is Kadon's, transforming the Beasts Priest into a Black Hydra
    No shooting
    Dragon Princes fail to wound, but Steg kills 2. LSG kill 4 Saurus, who in retun kill 6, break them and make them flee

    Turn 3 HE:
    Swordmasters charge Skinks again, who flee once more RBT stay, Archers stay, LSG flee , ore
    Magic roll of 3-4, nothing cast
    Archers kill another Skink
    Dragon prince does nothing, and gets killed by the Steg

    Turn 4 LM:
    Skinks rally, Steg marches up with Black Hydra, Saurus move up behind LSG
    Magic roll of 3-4, nothing cast
    No shooting
    No combat

    Turn 4 HE:
    LSG rally, Swordmasters wheel back to face Saurus and march towards them, Archers stay, RBT stays
    No magic attempted
    Archers peel a Saurus off, RBT gets rid of 2 more
    No combat

    Turn 5 LM:
    Saurus wheel and move up towards Archers, Hydra and Stegadon hold, Skinks march up to chase the Swordmasters
    No magic attempted
    No shooting
    No combat

    Turn 5 HE:
    Swordmasters and LSG both charge opposite flanks of the Saurus block, nothing else moves
    No magic
    No shooting
    Between the Swordmasters and LSG, the Saurus get taken down to the command and Oldblood, who takes the brunt of the attacks and eventually dies. The saurus mamage to deal 2 wounds in return.

    Turn 6 LM:
    Steagdon charges the rear of the LSG while the Hydra charges the flank, Skinks continue to move up, and head towards Archers
    No magic
    No shooting
    LSG attack the Stegadon and manage to deal it a wound, while Swordmasters take the Saurus down to only its champion. The Hydra decimates the LSG, and so does the Stegadon, causing a total of 10 wounds. The LSG break and flee

    Turn 6 HE:
    Archers stay, RBT stays, LSG fail tk rally
    No magic
    Archers put two more wounds on Skinks
    RBT can't get line of sight to shoot anything
    Swordmasters manage to defeat the Saurus finally.

    Game called, LM victory

    LM MVP:
    Stegadon
    Never leave home without this, took on dragin princes amd LSG and lived, and kicked ass while doing it

    I've learnt 2 things from this;
    Magic in small games is (for me at least) utterly pointless.
    This isn't herohammer, always take a big block over a priest or two
