Hey all, been a long time since I was on this site, and I'm glad to see it's still active! Anyways, I convinced my wife to start up Nighthaunt as her first army, and it's got me digging through my boxes for my dinosaurs again. I'm still green on the specifics in army building and rules in Laos, but I'd like input on list ideas. I love dinosaurs riding dinosaurs, so I wanted a saurus knight/carnosaur focused list, and i wanted to back it up with some summoning to return destroyed units and focus on specific threats/objectives. I originally wanted to run the Klaq-Tor's Talons batallion for the triple carnosaur threat (I liked the list in 1e where you can use ALL of the command abilities), but was told that the firelance starhost is more useful, even if I lose 2 carnosaurs. I figured i could still bring the oldblood, even if his command ability will just be affecting 2 carnosaur riders instead of 3. What are your thoughts? ++ **Pitched Battle** 2,000 (Order - Seraphon) [1,980pts] ++ + Leader + >Lord Kroak [430pts]: Command Trait: Arcane Might, Spells: Stellar Tempest, General >Saurus Astrolith Bearer [160pts] >Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur [240pts]: Relics of Ghur: Gryph-Feather Charm + Battleline + >Saurus Guard [160pts]: 2x 5 Saurus Guard, Stardrake Icon, Wardrum + Battalion + Battalion: Firelance Starhost [870pts] >Saurus Knights: 2x 5 Saurus Knights, Celestite Lance, Stardrake Icon, Wardrum >Saurus Knights: 2x 5 Saurus Knights, Celestite Lance, Stardrake Icon, Wardrum >Saurus Knights: 2x 5 Saurus Knights, Celestite Lance, Stardrake Icon, Wardrum >Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur: Celestite Greatblade + Malign Sorcery + >Endless Spell: Balewind Vortex [40pts] >Endless Spell: Chronomatic Cogs [80pts] + Allegiance + >Allegiance: Seraphon >Realm of Origin: Ghur
Welcome back to the forums. You should look into the Dracothion's Tail Battalion in the GHB. If you can free up the points to take it will net you more arefact slots, an additional CP, and make your army a 1 drop.
Not sure if that's what i want. I'd be sacrificing Lord Kroak for a generic slann, and generating 1 extra CP on a 4+ each turn as opposed to rolling 3 4+'s for Kroak.
