Hey. I was theorycrafting a 2K firelance with some mortal wounds support: Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Koatl's Claw Mortal Realm: Hysh Leaders Lord Kroak (320) - Spell: Stellar Tempest Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur (250) - General - Command Trait: Dominant Predator - Artefact: Eviscerating Blade Saurus Astrolith Bearer (140) - Artefact: Aetherquartz Brooch Skink Starpriest (120) - Spell: Tide of Serpents Skink Priest (70) Skink Priest (70) Battleline 10 x Saurus Knights (200) - Lances 10 x Saurus Knights (200) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (100) - Lances Units 4 x Salamander Hunting Pack (80) 4 x Salamander Hunting Pack (80) Battalions Firelance Starhost (160) Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Balewind Vortex (40) Bound Geminids of Uhl-Gysh (70) Bound Aethervoid Pendulum (60) Bound Quicksilver Swords (40) Total: 2000 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 99 bit short on wounds but should hit hart and can block some paths and dash out some MW. whats your opinion on it?
I like the general idea of it. 1) I think 4 Endless spells might be a bit much with just 2 casters. 2) I think you really want a Scar-Vet to buff the Knights considering all those attacks. 3) I dont get why you have 2 Skink Priests when they can only buff Skink units - I guess it is for the 2 Salamanders? Seems abit odd to me to only have 2 running about. If anything I would swap the 1 Priest for something else and have the 2 Salamanders in 1 pack.
You have to have a scar-vet for firelance temple host, not an oldblood. So I might drop one of the skink priests, change the oldblood on carnosaur to scar-vet on carnosaur, and then make the third group of knights into 10 guys as well.
You guys are right. I made obvious mistakes. Here is the new list: Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Koatl's Claw Mortal Realm: Hysh Leaders Lord Kroak (320) - Spell: Stellar Tempest Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (210) - General - War Spear - Command Trait: Dominant Predator - Artefact: Eviscerating Blade Saurus Astrolith Bearer (140) - Artefact: Aetherquartz Brooch Skink Starpriest (120) Skink Priest (70) Battleline 10 x Saurus Knights (200) - Lances 10 x Saurus Knights (200) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (100) - Lances Units 12 x Salamander Hunting Pack (240) Battalions Firelance Temple-host (160) Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Balewind Vortex (40) Bound Chronomantic Cogs (90) Bound Aethervoid Pendulum (60) Bound Ravenak's Gnashing Jaws (40) Total: 1990 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 101
I’ve played a very similar list with the firelance except I went without the endless spells. It’s a fun list and I really rate the knights. I suppose the cogs is a decent shout if you really want to get that turn 1 charge, although if that’s the case you’d want a starseer to get you even further with a 3d6 charge. Could take out priest and pendulum for the starseer. The priest is only there for the salamanders and you want your command points going into the knights as much as you can really. (Side note: no need for cogs to be bound)
Updated once more. No Skink Priest. Other Endless Spells. 2 Starpriests Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Koatl's Claw Mortal Realm: Hysh Leaders Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (210) - General - War Spear - Command Trait: Dominant Predator - Artefact: Eviscerating Blade Lord Kroak (320) - Spell: Stellar Tempest Saurus Astrolith Bearer (140) - Artefact: Aetherquartz Brooch Skink Starpriest (120) - Spell: Hand of Glory Skink Starpriest (120) - Spell: Tide of Serpents Battleline 10 x Saurus Knights (200) - Lances 10 x Saurus Knights (200) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (100) - Lances Units 12 x Salamander Hunting Pack (240) Battalions Firelance Temple-host (160) Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Balewind Vortex (40) Bound Geminids of Uhl-Gysh (70) Bound Aethervoid Pendulum (60) Total: 1980 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 101
Ohh looks good! Although one change to consider, the astrolith is fairly slow when compared to saurus knights, so it might make sense to swap it for a scar veteran. Another fun thing to try is giving the general an artherquartz brooch and on a 5+ you are gaining command points. Other then that very solid list
True true, but with a Koatl’s claw list you can try to maximize CP gains with the aetherquartz brooch and command trait. Either way though it should be effective either way
But as far as i understand, it does not matter , what hero uses his command ability, so that the brooch can be activated. Which means, the blade can be on the scar vet on carnosaur and the brooch can be on the astrolith
