Actually, we have not a thread dedicated to battles in the current Summer Worldwide Campaign, there are just some vague report in the discussion threads. So i think it's time to do one, TO POST ALL THE REPORTS OF YOUR CAMPAIGNS. Today i went to the shop, prepared to play a "almost 1000 pts" game agains orcs. My list (980 pts) was around skinks: 3 razordons 3 salamanders 3 handlers (tot 400) Starseer (160 pts) stegadon (260) 2 x 10 skinks as battleline (160) At the shop... surprise! no 1000 orcs, but 1500 chaos. I added: Starpriest, bastiladon, 5 chama skinks (520, for a grand total of 1500) My opponent's list: 20 bloodletters 3 Varanguard (with formation) 1 herald of tzeentch on disk Archaon In the set up, i took time placing my chama skinks hidden, and the battleline skinks on the opposite sides of the battlefield to control objectives. My opponent placed Archaon on one side, the bloodletters on the other one, the Varanguards and the Flying wizard on the center. I deployed the rest of my army directly in the bloodletter's zone (my right), letting the left skinks all alone. My plan was easily simple, given that his units were really strong, but also really few in number: - wipe away ASAP the bloodletters with my superior shooting firepower, - control objectives tnx to my superior number, - to put at good use my "sacrificial" left skinks, and force my opponent to choose: to use a strong unit to attack my right army, or chasing the skinks that could control objectives. My plan worked well, 'cause it has been a Crushing Victory for the Order!
With the brand new points for Forge World models, obviously today opened the "proxied models season". I was using a variant of mine above list: 2 x 10 skinks as Battleline 2 razordons 3 salamanders 3 handlers Starseer Skink Priest Stegadon EotG 2 x 5 chama skinks (tot 1500) My opponent (for Destruction): 1 Troll Hag 6 Throggots (the basic version of trolls, that don't die at 4+) 1 Stonehorn 1 Thundertusk (1480 pts) Nice list, very impressive: fast, strong, high survivability, heavy shooting, good magical support... but again, very few models, and we rolled the fourth scenario (the one with 4 objectives). My opponent was lamenting the fact that he was doomed since the beginning, 'cause chama skinks. I admit it's true (why do you think i took them?) and indeed, in the end, I won by 4 objective points tnx precisely to chama skinks... but anyway, victory would have been mine the same: he killed 1 unit of skinks and the 2 steggies (tot: 580 pts), while i killed the stonehorn and the thundertusk (680 pts). And the EotG was really ineffectual. Oh, well, another point for us.
Certainly yes. You have also the option to post them in the thread "Summer Campaign : the opponents", but they would fit well also here.
