Oh, cool. This red seems really menacing (I don't like the old stegy model though.. but well thats for another discussion ). I really like work you did on ropes and platforms in general. And where did you get that awesome mayan calendar?! I want one too
Here's the exact one, I got it because it has Quetzalcoatl on it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/AZTEC-mayan...509?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item588ff45135 There are dozens of different designs though, I think this one would be excellent if you do your own green stuff http://www.ebay.com/itm/AZTEC-CALEN...196?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item23146bd394 Turn the faces on the bottom into lizard faces so they resemble the old skink chiefs. The old stegadon actually has nerd history to it, it belonged to Jawaballs of Blood Angels fame, and it was one of the first prizes he won. He wanted money for a house and child rearing, so I bought it from him, still unopened.
I'm really interested in how you used/divided up the crew and bits from the new steg to make the old one look like part of the new army design. I plan on doing this as well as I have both kits and it makes sense to me to use the plastic one as the ancient and the metal one as the baby. Thanks!
Everything on the new steg is scaled so much larger than the older one. All I did, and it was a last second decision since I want to run it as ancient, is put the blow guns on top of the giant bow, it roughly lines up to look like the two skinks pulling the bow can operate the guns.
Looked like you swapped out the old crew and replaced the old shields with the newer scaled ones too.
Hey look, you guys get a sneak preview of my salamanders. If you r-click > view image, you can see the hi-res. Isn't that handy?
I feel like the pictures where the salies are in the background give a better shot/are better lit. That aside, oh wow. Dig the colours, and the way they're blended up. What colour did you use for the underbelly?
Reaper 09008 Sun Yellow - base 09009 Lemon Yellow - highlight Gryphonne Sepia wash on the whole thing. Lol, yeah you're right about the photos. The saddest thing during this whole process was learning my girlfriends iphone took better pictures than my $350 Olympus camera. I figure I'll take convenience shots to show progress, then once things are done I'll take proper photos.
