What's a good way to clean paint of models? I found my old Lord of the Rings models and well, they're terrible so I'd like to repaint em. Or at least the worst of em. Anyone know any good ways to clean off the paint? There's plastic and metal models.

for the metal models you can just use paint striper. it will also get the paint off of the plastic models along with the first few layers of plastic

anything that doesn't melt the plastic models if I don't pay attention for a second?

IPA or Isopropyl alcohol is a super cheap chemical that will also help you in the process. If you are in USA, you can also do even better by using cleaners such as LA Totally Awesome or Super Clean (as given by Erta Wanderer).

Usage is dead simple. Let the model sink and soak the chemical over night, then you use old hard toothbrush to strip the paint. You might need to redo the process depending on how much primer and paint layers you had applied.

Tested on plastic models.
